Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
After holding Feyenoord to a goalless draw in Rotterdam, Vitesse will be looking to return to winning ways in the Eredivisie when they take on Zwolle on Matchday 31. The Vitas aim to keep their Europa League hopes alive, meaning that Saturday’s clash is of big importance for the hosts. You should bear in mind that Vitesse are eyeing their 11th home win of the process.
Zwolle, on the other hand, aim to build on back-to-back wins over Twente and Heerenveen. The Blauwingers are four points behind the Conference League berth, but we do not believe that they should be looking for points at GelreDome. Given the number of absentees in the away team, anything but a routine home win would be a major surprise. In the previous meeting between the two sides at GelreDome Vitesse defeated Zwolle 3-0, which is yet another reason why home win should be considered.
Highlighted Player (Riechedly Bazoer):
Despite playing for PSV during his youth career, Riechedly Bazoer made his Eredivisie debut with Ajax. The central midfielder who was born on 12 October, 1996 in Utrecht, scored his first goal for Ajax on 15 February, 2015 in a 4-2 victory over Twente.
Four days later he made his European debut with the Amsterdammers, taking part in a 1-0 win over Legia in the Europa League. Bazoer scored five goals in 29 league appearances for Ajax in the 2015/2016 season, but he failed to win the domestic trophy with Frank de Boer’s troops.
Speaking of his international career, Bazoer has two caps for Netherlands U21 team and he made his debut for the first team on 13 November, 2015 against Wales. It has to be noted that he came as a late substitute in the 3-2 victory over the Dragons. Back in 2012 the right-footed midfielder won the UEFA U17 European Championship with the Dutch national team.
Highlighted Team (Zwolle):
Founded on June 12, 1910, PEC Zwolle is a Dutch football club which competes in the Eredivisie. Zwolle have yet to win the national championship, but they did remarkably well to lift the Dutch Cup trophy in 2014. Ron Jans’s troops impressed in the title game, with the team rolling over Dutch giants Ajax 5-1.
The Blauwingers play their home games at MACPARK Stadion, the venue with the capacity of 14,000 people. The multi-use stadium was opened on August 29, 2009. Zwolle’s home kit is blue and white, while the colour of their away jersey is green and white. In the 2014/15 season the Blauwingers represented the Netherlands in the Europa League, with the team losing to Sparta Prague in the play-off round.
The likes of Henk Timmer (237), Johan Hansma (231), Bert Konterman (219), Arne Slot (208), and Jasper Drost (182) are the players with the most league appearances for the club. Go Ahead Eagles are considered the club’s biggest rivals as both teams are located at the river Ijssel.
