Lillestrom play host to Viking at their Arasen Stadion in the Eliteserien round 5. The Canaries kicked off the new season with a 3-1 loss at Stromsgodset, and, no doubt, they are determined to give fans something to cheer about. Stromsgodset

Kristiansund and Stromsgodset take on each other at Kristiansund Stadion in what is expected to be a close Eliteserien game. Christian Michelsen’s troops did well to beat Valerenga on the road, with the team regaining a much-needed confidence. Kristiansund are now eyeing their first home win of the season, and we are positive that they will adopt an attack-minded approach ... Read More...

Monday’s football game at Haugesund Stadion pits together Haugesund and Stabaek, the two teams who shared the spoils with Sarpsborg and Odd respectively in their openers. Eliteserien Predictions by FootballPredictions.com

Founded back in 1937, Eliteserien is a Norwegian professional football league. Before the start of the 1937/1938 season, regional leagues in Southern Norway were grouped into eight districts, with the champion being decided after the play-offs.

The League of Norway was called Norgesserien and initially the teams were divided into no fewer than eleven groups from eight districts. Nowadays, 16 clubs compete in the Norwegian top flight, with seasons running from March to November.

FootballPredictions.com started covering the Norwegian Eliteserien from the 2019 season. Our team of experts spotted great value in football tips on the Eliteserien and we figured out this is something we need to share with our loyal visitors. Because of the lack of knowledge of many bookmakers on this league we believe there is big amounts of money to make placing bets on the Eliteserien.

Eliteserien tips, predictions and betting advice

Eliteserien are the synonym for fair play. There are no fixed matches in the Norwegian national championship and each and every team leaves their hearts on the field in every single match during the season.

Norwegian clubs have always been sticking to their attacking style of play, therefore, gamblers from around the globe aim to take advantage on over/under and both teams to score markets, when it comes to Eliteserien fixtures. However, you should bear in mind that underdogs often shock favourites in the Norwegian top flight.

Our experts always make use of statistical data and in game knowledge of the Norwegian top football league. This combined with our years of experience make our Eliteserien tips accurate and very useful for you to place your next Eliteserien bet!

Eliteserien league format

Seeing that there are 16 clubs in the Norwegian elite division as of the 2019, with each and every team playing 30 games during the season (home and away). Eliteserien games are usually played on Sunday and it has to be noted that there are 240 matches in total in a season.

May 16 is considered the national day of football and, as a result, this is the most anticipated round of the season. During that period of the season all stadiums are packed as this round precedes a national holiday – Norway’s Constitution Day.

Similar to other leagues, teams pick up three points for a victory and one point for a draw. As always, points are not awarded for a defeat. Eliteserien clubs are ranked by total number of points, then goal difference, goals scored and eventually H2H records, which separate teams who are level on points in the standings.

The club with the most points wins the Eliteserien trophy at the end of each season, with the two rock-bottom sides being automatically relegated to the Norwegian second tier (1. divisjon). On the other hand, the two top clubs from the 1. divisjon secure promotion to the Eliteserien. The fourteenth-placed team in the Norwegian top flight takes part in the play-offs, meeting the third-placed side from the 1. divisjon in the two-legged tie.

Speaking of participation in European competitions, Eliteserien champions take part in the qualifiers for the Champions League (round 2), whilst both second-placed and third-placed clubs make it to the Europa League second qualifying round.
