Our prediction for this Portugal Primeira Liga match:
Saturday’s football game at Estadio D. Afonso Henriques pits together Vitoria Guimaraes and Santa Clara. Guimaraes have been totally out of form of late, with the team losing each of their last five league fixtures, and, no doubt, they are low on confidence ahead of the visit of Santa Clara. Joao Henriques’ troops are desperate to get back on course in the national championship, but this game will be anything but a walk in the park for the hosts.
Os Acoreanos regained a much-needed confidence at the weekend, with the team crushing Nacional 5-1, and we predict that they will take advantage of Guimaraes’ poor form. A man to watch in the away team will be Silva Costa, who scored a brace in the triumph over Nacional. You should bear in mind that Santa Clara are eyeing their sixth away win of the season.
Highlighted Player (Pedro Henrique):
Pedro Henrique is a Brazilian defender who plays for Vitoria de Guimaraes in Primeira Liga. Born in Goiania on December 18, 1992, Pedrao is a product of Goias football school, but he made no more than one appearance for the Brazilian club before joining Cruzeiro-Poa.
Pedro Henrique played for the likes of Trindade and Aparecidense as well before joining Goias in the 2013/2014 season. In 2015 he moved to Portugal, signing a deal with Guimaraes where he established himself as a first-team regular.
Thanks to his brilliant performances Pedrao was given captaincy and it has to be noted that he scored his first goal for OS Vimaranenses on December 9, 2018 in a 3-2 win over Rio Ave. His main position in centre-back, but he is used as a left-back as well. His preferred foot is left and he has a contract with Guimaraes which is set to expire on June 30, 2022.
Highlighted Team (Santa Clara):
Santa Clara are a professional football club that compete in the Portuguese Primeira Liga. Os Acoreanos (The Azoreans) play their home games at Estadio de Sao Miguel, the venue which can hold up to 13,277 people.
Estadio de Sao Miguel was built in 1930. Santa Clara are the only team from the Azores Islands to compete in the Primeira Liga. Os Acoreanos are well known for its close connection with famoust Portuguese club Benfica, with the two teams sharing the very same crest until recently.
Santa Clara wear red shirts and white shorts when playing at home ground, whilst white is the dominant colour of their away kit. Os Acoreanos participated in the Intertoto Cup in the 2002/2003 season, with the team beating FC Shirak in round 1 5-3 on aggregate, while suffering a loss to Teplice 2-9 on agg. in round 2. CD Operario from Lagao are considered Santa Clara’s fiercest rivals.
