Sunday’s football game between Porto and Famalicao will bring down the curtain on day 19 of the current Primeira Liga campaign. The Dragons are on a 13-game winning run in the Portuguese top flight, and, no doubt, they are high on confidence following a come-from-behind win over Belenenses. Otavio is back from suspension, while Zaidu is on international duty with Nigeria. Iran international Taremi, on the other hand, is pushing for a start after scoring as a substitute in the last league fixture.
Famalicao head into the match following a goalless draw with Ferreira. The visitors are eyeing their third consecutive clean sheet, but preventing Porto from scoring at Estadio do Dragao is easier said than done. Both Heriberto Tavares and Diogo Figueiras have been tested positive for coronavirus, while Alexandre Penetra is banned, speaking of the visiting side.

Fabio Cardoso is a Portuguese defender who was born in Agueda (Portugal) on April 19, 1994. Cardoso started his youth career at his hometown club Agueda, but in 2008 he continued his development at Benfica. After scoring three goals in 55 appearances for Benfica B, he spent the 2015/2016 season on loan at Pacos Ferreira.
In the summer of 2017, he signed a four-year deal with Vitoria Setubal, but he spent only one season at Estadio do Bonfim. Cardoso joined Scottish club Glasgow Rangers in June 2017, signing a three-year contract with the club for a fee of around £1.3 million.
The Portuguese defender, though, made no more than 12 appearances for the Gers, joining Santa Clara in the summer of 2018. Fabio Cardoso has four caps with the Portugal U20 team, but he has yet to earn a call-up for the senior team. His primary position is a centre-back, but he is often used as a left-back. His preferred foot is right.

Famalicao welcome their rivals at Estadio Municipal 22 de Junho Vila Nova de Famalicao, the venue with the capacity of 5,307 people. The stadium was opened in 1952 and ever since has been serving as the team’s home ground. Famalicao are owned by Quantum Pacific Group, the company which has a 32% share of famous La Liga side Atletico Madrid as well.
The Azuis e Brancos secured promotion to Primeira Liga for the first time in the 1946/1947 season and they returned to the Portuguese elite division in 2019. Famalicao recorded a 2-0 win over Santa Clara on their return to the Portuguese top flight, with Toni Martinez and Anderson finding the net for the visitors.
