Our prediction for this Portugal Primeira Liga match:
Estadio Joao Cardoso will host Saturday’s football game between Tondela and Ferreira. Tondela continue with their habit of producing much better showings at home than on the travels. Os Auriverdes are on a three-game losing run on the road, but they did well to beat Maritimo 4-2 in their last home fixture. Defender Jose Manuel Hernando is banned for the hosts, but he is not considered a first-team regular.
Ferreira, on the other hand, aim to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to Gil Vicente. The visitors are on a five-game losing run in the Portuguese top flight, which is probably the main reason why we are tempted to put our money on Tondela this time out. In their last meeting in the Portuguese elite division Ferreira defeated Tondela 3-2, meaning that the hosts are hungry for revenge.
Highlighted Player (Jhon Murillo):
Jhon Murillo is a Venezuela international who was born in El Nula on November 21, 1995. After spending his youth career at San Camilo and Alto Apure, Murillo started playing for Zamora at the senior level.
The Venezuelan forward scored 19 goals in 59 appearances for el Blanquinegro before joining the famous Portuguese club Benfica. However, Murillo did not see any game action at Benfica in Primeira Liga as he was immediately sent on loan to Tondela. After ending his loan spell with the Auriverdes, Jhon Murillo signed a loan deal with Turkish club Kasimpasa in the 2017/2018 season.
In 2018 he returned to Tondela, signing a permanent contract with the Portuguese outfit. Speaking of his international career, the Tondela winger made his Venezuela debut on February 11, 2015, in a friendly against Honduras, scoring the winner on his debut. His primary position is left winger, but he is capable of producing excellent performances as a centre-forward as well.
Highlighted Team (Ferreira):
Founded on April 5, 1950, Pacos de Ferreira are a Portuguese football club who play their home games at Estadio da Mata Real. The venue can hold up to 9,077 people and it was opened in October 7, 1973. Os Castores are well known for their yellow shirts and green shorts, with the team wearing white and black kit when playing on the travels.
Pacos de Ferreira have yet to win the Primeira Liga trophy, but they did well to make it to the Taca de Portugal final in the 2008/2009 season. Os Castores faced Porto in the title game, with the Dragons attacker Lisandro Lopez scoring the only game of the match.
Two seasons later Pacos de Ferreira faced Benfica in the Taca da Liga final, with the Eagles lifting the trophy. Wolverhampton forward Diogo Jota is one of notable footballers who started their senior careers at Pacos de Ferreira.
