Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Brentford and West Ham United take on each other at Brentford Community Stadium in a highly-anticipated London derby. The Bees aim to recover from a 3-1 loss to Tottenham and they are likely to adopt an attack-oriented strategy against West Ham. Kevin Schade is pushing for a start, while all Nunes, Jensen, Hickey, Thiago, Da Silva, and Henry remain in the recovery room. Midfielder Christian Norgaard should be fit for the local derby.
The Hammers, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-0 loss to Chelsea. As Julen Lopetegui’s men are desperate to grab something from Saturday’s clash as well, we are tempted to place our bets on both teams to score. Lopetegui has a full squad to choose from except for summer recruit Niclas Fullkrug, who is a major doubt. In their last meeting at the venue Brentford defeated West Ham 3-2.
Highlighted Player (Tomas Soucek):
Tomas Soucek is a Czech Republic international who plays for both Slavia Prague and the Czech national team. Soucek is a product of Slavia Prague football academy and after spending several years at the likes of Viktoria Zizkov and Slovan Liberec, he returned to the Sinobo Stadium outfit in the 2017/2018 season.
Tomas Soucek has established himself as a first-team regular at Slavia Prague and he made his debut with Czech Republic on November 15, 2016 in a friendly against Denmark. The 192-cm tall midfielder has 13 caps for Czech Republic U21 team as well.
His main position on the field is defensive midfield, but he is used as central midfielder and centre-back as well. Tomas Soucek was born in Havlickuv Brod on February 27, 1995. His preferred foot is right and his contract with Slavia Prague should expire on June 30, 2024.
Highlighted Team (Brentford):
Based in London, Brentford compete in the Championship and they were founded in 1898. Griffin Park has been the home ground of the club since 1904 and the capacity of the venue is 12,300.
The Bees have yet to play in the Premier League and it has to be noted that they made it to the FA Cup sixth round on four occasions (1937/1938, 1945/1946,1948/1949, 1988/1989). Brentford played in the League Cup round 4 in the 1982/1983 and 2010/2011 season and that is the club’s biggest success in the competition.
Brentford’s main rivals are Fulham and Queens Park Rangers and they take on each other in the West London Derby. The rivalry with the Cottagers is probably the biggest and you should bear in mind that the clashes between the two teams have their history of crowd violence. The colour of Brentford’s shirts is red and white and they wear black shorts.
