Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Friday’s football game at Amex Stadium pits together Brighton and Brentford, the two mid-table sides. Brighton are eager to put an end to their five-game winless run and they are surely capable of making life difficult for the Bees, who struggle on the travels. Midfielder Yasin Ayari is widely expected to return to the starting XI, while Danny Welbeck is unlikely to recover in time to face the capital club.
Brentford, on the other hand, failed to impress in a 2-0 loss to Nottingham Forest and given their poor away record in the new Premier League campaign, we believe that there is a big value in betting on Brighton. In their last meeting at Amex Stadium Brighton defeated Brentford 2-1 and we predict that history is going to repeat itself. The likes of Dasilva, Gustavo Nunes, Henry, Hickey, Jensen, Pinnock, Thiago, and van den Berg should miss out with injuries for the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Joel Veltman):
Joel Veltman is a Dutch footballer who was born in Velsen on 15 January, 1992. Veltman started his youth career at VV Ijmuiden and in 2011 he was spotted by Ajax scouts. In the 2012/2013 Eredivisie campaign he played for the first team and he made seven league appearances for the Amsterdammers back then.
The centre back, who plays as a right back as well made six appearances for Jong Ajax as well, scoring one goal for the team in the Eerste Divisie. Veltman has 8 caps for Netherlands U20 team and he made his debut for the first team in November 2013 against Colombia. He started the match and he played 90 minutes in the goalless draw with the South American side.
Joel Veltman represented the Oranje at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. It has to be noted that the Dutch defender made 34 league appearances for Ajax in the 2015/2016 Eredivisie campaign, scoring one goal in the process. In the 2013/2014 season he won his second Eredivisie trophy with Ajax.
Highlighted Team (Brentford):
Based in London, Brentford compete in the Championship and they were founded in 1898. Griffin Park has been the home ground of the club since 1904 and the capacity of the venue is 12,300.
The Bees have yet to play in the Premier League and it has to be noted that they made it to the FA Cup sixth round on four occasions (1937/1938, 1945/1946,1948/1949, 1988/1989). Brentford played in the League Cup round 4 in the 1982/1983 and 2010/2011 season and that is the club’s biggest success in the competition.
Brentford’s main rivals are Fulham and Queens Park Rangers and they take on each other in the West London Derby. The rivalry with the Cottagers is probably the biggest and you should bear in mind that the clashes between the two teams have their history of crowd violence. The colour of Brentford’s shirts is red and white and they wear black shorts.
