Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Chelsea will be aiming to book their spot in European competitions when they take on Bournemouth on the last day of the season. The Blues have been producing fine performances in May and it is no wonder the bookies see them as favourites to beat the Cherries at Stamford Bridge. There are no fresh injury worries in the home team, but all Fofana, Fernandez, Chukwuemeka, and Chilwell remain in the recovery room.
Meanwhile, the Cherries failed to impress in back-to-back losses to Arsenal and Brentford, which is yet another reason why we are going to bet on the in-form hosts. Both Enes Unal and Marcus Tavernier should be recalled to the starting XI, while defender Milos Kerkez is back from suspension. Both Luis Sinisterra and Ryan Fredericks remain in the treatment room. In their last meeting in London Chelsea defeated Bournemouth 2-0 and we predict that history is going to repeat itself.
Highlighted Player (Thiago Silva):
Brazilian defender Thiago Silva is one of the highest rated defenders in world football. Having emerged from Fluminense youth ranks, the 31-year-old defender established himself as a world-class performer while plying his trade for AC Milan from 2009 to 2012.
Having largely contributed to Rossonerri’s title winning campaign in 2010-11, Thiago Silva moved to Paris Saint-Germain together with Zlatan Ibrahimovic for a reported fee worth €42 million, which made him then second-most expensive defender in football history after Rio Ferdinand.
Silva was an immediate success at the French club, helping Les Parisiens win four consecutive Ligue 1 titles in the process. Heavily linked with a move away from Parc des Princes, fan favourite Thiago Silva remains a key figure at Paris Saint-Germain and a leader of the new wave under head coach Unai Emery. Having already surpassed the 100-game mark for the French giants, Thiago Silva is slowly writing his name in the history books of Paris Saint-Germain.
Highlighted Team (Bournemouth):
Bournemouth are a professional football club that was formed back in 1890. The Cherries secured promotion to the Premier League in the 2015/2016 season, with the team making it to the English top flight for the first time ever.
Bournemouth play their home games at Dean Court and the capacity of the stadium is 11,469.
The Cherries enjoyed a very successful season on their Premier League debut, with the team beating the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United in the national championship. Glenn Murray scored the winner for Bournemouth in the 1-0 win over the capital club at Stamford Bridge and that is probably the greatest victory in the club’s history.
Bournemouth have been participating in the FA Cup since 1913, but they have yet to win the trophy in the prestigious competition. It has to be noted that the club’s original name Boscombe Athletic Football Club was changed to Bournemouth back in 1923 as the club owners wanted the Cherries to be more representative of the district.
