Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Chelsea and Norwich City face each other in a David-vs-Goliath clash at Stamford Bridge on day 9 of the new Premier League campaign. The Blues were more than fortunate to beat Brentford on the road, with the Bees failing to convert a number of clear-cut chances to score. Chelsea, though, are still seen as one of the main candidates to win the title, and they should not face any difficulties in Saturday’s game.
Both Rudiger and Ziyech should be fit for the game, while Pulisic remains in the recovery room. The Canaries, on the other hand, do not seem to be competitive at this level, and they are unlikely to spoil Chelsea’s party at Stamford Bridge. Teemu Pukki and Co. have yet to record a win in the new EPL campaign, and they are unlikely to claim a major scalp on Matchday 9. The likes of Zimmermann, Byram, and Gilmour are out of contention for the visitors.
Highlighted Player (Mateo Kovacic):
Born to Croatian parents in Linz, Austria, Mateo Kovacic spent seven years in the LASK Linz youth academy before joining Dinamo Zagreb, where he showed a great deal of potential shortly after being promoted to the senior squad.
The good return of 7 goals in 43 league appearances saw him secure a high-profile move to Inter Milan, where he acted as both holding midfielder and attacking midfielder, during the three years at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. And despite not exactly impressing in Italy, Kovacic was purchased by mighty Real Madrid, where he has been ever since. The youngster is widely regarded as one of Croatia’s most talented footballers at the moment and he has represented the country on international stage since the age of 19.
In just three years he managed to make over 25 appearances for the national team, playing at the 2014 World Cup and Euro 2016 finals for Vatreni. Kovavic has yet to be given a real chance to impress at Real Madrid, but he has entire future ahead of him.
Highlighted Team (Norwich):
After spending only one season in the Premier League, Norwich City dropped to the Championship at the end of the 2015/2016 campaign. Norwich City are located in Norwich, Norfolk and they welcome their rivals at Carrow Road.
The stadium was built and opened in 1935 and the capacity of the venues is 27,137 (all-seater). However the stadium’s record attendance is 43,984. The Canaries have won two League Cup trophies (1973, 1975) and their main rivals are Ipswich Town. The two teams have been facing each other in the East Anglian Derby since 1902.
The colour of Norwich City’s home kit is yellow and green and that is the main reason why they are known as the Canaries. The likes of Kevin Keeland, Ian Culverhouse, Steve Bruce, Duncan Forbes, Mark Bowen, Darren Huckerby, Ian Crook, Martin Peters, Darren Eadier, Chris Sutton and Iwan Roberts are notable footballers who played for the Carrow Road outfit in the past.
