Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Everton will look to make amends for a 3-1 loss to Newcastle United when they take on Leeds United at their Goodison Park. The Toffees have been slipping down the standings week by week, and, as a result, their Premier League status is in great danger. Everton are on a four-game losing run in the national championship, meaning that they are desperate to grab something from Saturday’s clash.
Both Yerry Mina and Demarai Gray are rated doubtful for the game after the duo limped off with injuries in the last league match, while fit-again attacker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is pushing for a start. The Whites, on the other hand, played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Leeds United on Wednesday evening. Since both sides are desperate to escape the danger zone, we believe that there is a big value in betting on both teams to score. All Bamford, Greenwood, Phillips, Cooper and Firpo miss out with injuries for the away side.
Highlighted Player (Gylfi Sigurdsson):
Arguably one of Iceland’s most famous footballers ever, Gylfi Sigurdson was born In Reykjavik on 9 September 1989, but he never played for an Icelandic club on senior level. Having shown a great deal of potential while playing for FH and Breidablik youth teams, the attacking midfielder was snatched by Reading in 2008 and he has since spent the majority of his career in England.
Sigurdsson also went on to represent Hoffenheim and Tottenham Hotspur, but he played his best football during the two spells with Swansea City, scoring 25 goals in first 85 Premier League games for the Swans. Sigurdsson became famous for his dangerous free-kicks and killer passes in the final third, but he was never given a genuine opportunity to prove his worth while at Tottenham Hotspur.
The highly rated footballer had a key role to play as Iceland secured their first ever appearance at a major tournament finals, scoring 6 goals in 10 Euro 2016 qualifiers to ensure he would remain in the history books for years to come.
Highlighted Team (Leeds United):
Leeds United is one of the clubs that won the FA Cup. The Whites outplayed Arsenal in the final of the prestigious competition back in 1972, but they clinched the League Cup trophy as well. Leeds United faced the Gunners in the 1967/1968 League Cup final and it has to be noted that Terry Cooper scored the winner for the Whites.
Leeds play their home games at Elland Road and the capacity of the stadium is 37,914. The club was founded in 1919 and they have won three First Division (Premier League) trophies ever since (1968/1969, 1973/1974, 1991/1992). Leeds United made it to the Champions League final in 1975, but they were beaten by Bayern Munich in the title clash.
The Whites were impressive under David O’Leary. The likes of Jonathan Woodgate, Lee Bowyer, Harry Kewell, Mark Viduka and Ian Harte were part of the Elland Road outfit back then and they did well to reach the semis of the Champions League in 2001.
