Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Leicester City and Wolverhampton go head to head at King Power Stadium in what is expected to be a close Premier League encounter. The Foxes aim to recover from a massive 4-0 loss to Newcastle United and it seems as if they will not have a better chance than this to return to winning ways in the national championship. Patson Daka is pushing for a start as Patson Daka failed to impress in the St. James’ Park defeat, while midfielder Boubakary Soumare is back from suspension.
The Wolves, on the other hand, suffered a dip in form, with the team losing each of their last four league matches and given their shaky defence, we believe that there is a big value in betting on Ruud van Nistelrooy’s troops. In their last encounter at King Power Stadium Leicester recorded a 2-1 win over Wolverhampton, who will be without suspended left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri in Sunday’s clash.
Highlighted Player (Jamie Vardy):
Spending his early career playing no-league football, Jamie Vardy made the headlines when he joined Leicester City in a £1 million deal in 2012, but little did he know that he would go on to become a genuine Premier League star just three years later.
The experienced forward helped the Foxes gain promotion to the elite division and then score more than 20 goals as they mounted an unlikely title bid, earning worldwide acclaim as well as a place in the England squad. Vardy went on to score his first two goals for the Three Lions in March 2016 friendlies, with his back-heel goal against Germany in Berlin seeing him instantly become a fans’ favourite.
Over the years, Vardy has earned a reputation as a striker who never gives up and can be a real menace for opposition defenders, but his excellent goalscoring record and good link-up play are enough to suggest he can be described as a mix of old-style pacey forwards and modern strikers.
Highlighted Team (Wolves):
Wolverhampton are a club that was originally known as St. Luke’s FC. The Wolves play in the Championship and they were founded in 1877. Molineux is the home ground of Wolverhampton and the capacity of the stadium is 31,700. Wolverhampton have won four FA Cup trophies (1893, 1908, 1949, 1960), with the team lifting the League Cup trophy in 1974 and 1980.
The colour of the club’s shirts is orange and they wear black shorts. The Wolves wear blue jerseys when playing away from home. Wolverhampton’s main rivals are West Bromwich Albion and they have been facing each other in the Black Country derby since 1888. In their first meeting in the local derby WBA recorded a 1-0 win over Wolves.
Wolverhampton have won three First Division trophies (1953/1954, 1957/1958, 1958/1959) and they have clinched four FA Cup titles as well (1893, 1908, 1949, 1960). The club’s owner is Steve Morgan.
