Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Tottenham and Everton face each other at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in what is expected to be an entertaining Premier League game. Spurs quickly bounced back from a heart-breaking loss to Arsenal, with the team beating Brighton on the road thanks to Harry Kane’s goal. Antonio Conte’s men are eager to stay in the title race, and the bookies see them as favourites to win Saturday’s clash. Emerson Royal remains on the sidelines through suspension, while Dejan Kulusevski faces race against clock to be fit for the match.
The Toffees, on the other hand, failed to impress in a 2-1 loss to Manchester United, and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Tottenham’s party in London. Fit-again striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is pushing for a start, while all Townsend, Patterson, Mina, and Godfrey remain in the recovery room. Mason Holgate is a major doubt, while Anthony Gordon is banned for the match.
Highlighted Player (Harry Kane):
Widely regarded as one of England’s best strikers at the moment, Harry Kane enjoyed a meteoric rise at Tottenham Hotspur, scoring 21 Premier League goals during the 2014/2015 campaign to be voted PFA Young Player of the Year.
The highly rated striker went on to surpass that achievement the following season as he helped Tottenham Hotspur mount a serious title challenge for the first time in club’s recent history and he made seamless transition to international football. Kane scored four goals in his first ten appearances for England to prove he was here to stay and at the same time established himself as a first choice striker in Roy Hodgson’s squad ahead of the Euro 2016 finals.
Kane is a modern striker, who is extremely dangerous in the opposition box, but it was some outstanding goals from distance as well as link-up play with teammates that earned him an excellent reputation in world football. Kane is expected to lead both Tottenham and England in years to come, that is if he can resist the lure of top European clubs that continue to cast admiring glances his way.
Highlighted Team (Everton):
Everton are one of the two Merseyside giants that were formed back in 1878, with the club holding a long-standing rivalry with Liverpool. Everton have participated in the English top flight for a record 113 seasons, with the team competing in the English second tier in just four campaigns.
The Toffees play their home matches at Goodison Park, the stadium that was opened in 1892. Everton have won the national championship nine times, with the team winning their last domestic trophy back in 1987.
The Toffees have clinched five FA Cup trophies as well and it has to be noted that a victory over Manchester United in the 1994/1995 FA Cup final helped the team win their last title in the prestigious competition. Everton and Liverpool face each other in the Merseyside derby and the clash between the two local rivals has been called the Merseyside derby since 1955.
In the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign Everton were hammered by Liverpool (0-4) at Anfield.
