Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Following a 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest, West Ham United will look to get back on course in the Premier League when they face Everton on Matchday 11. The Hammers continue with their old habit of producing fine performances at home than on the travels and you should know that they are eyeing their third consecutive win at London Stadium. Home win, though, should not be considered as both Mohammed Kudus and Edson Alvarez are banned for the match.
Summer signing Niclas Fullkrug remains on the sidelines with an Achilles tendon problem. The Toffees, on the other hand, failed to impress in a 1-0 loss to Southampton, but seeing that West Ham head into Saturday’s encounter with a severely-weakened squad, there is a big value in betting on both teams to score. The likes of James Garner, Armando Broja, Youssef Chermiti, and Tim Iroegbunam miss out with injuries for the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Abdoulaye Doucouré):
French international midfielder Abdoulaye Doucour is a bundle of raw energy and a player who was voted Watford’s Player of the Season during the 2017/18 campaign. A deep-lying midfielder who takes part in play build-up from behind is a defensive asset who took time to blossom and announce himself at the international stage. He first burst to prominence at Ligue 1 side Rennes in 2012 after a year with the club’s B side and went on to play 75 league matches and score 12 goals.
Watford bought Doucoure in 2016 but sent him on loan to Granada, where he took part in 15 league matches. Determined to prove his worth in the Premier League, the Frenchman of Mali descent wasted no time in grabbing a starting spot under both Marco Silva and Javi Garcia, respectively, upon his return from Spain.
The total of 38 matches played along with 8 goals scored made Doucoure one of the most sought-after assets in the summer of 2018 but the player remained at Vicarage Road despite reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
Highlighted Team (West Ham):
West Ham United are an English football club based in East London. The club was founded in 1895 and it has to be noted that the club’s name was Thames Ironworks back then. The Hammers were playing their home games at Upton Park from 1904 until 2016, when they moved to the Stadium at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
West Ham have won three FA Cup trophies (1964, 1975 and 1980) and they were runners-up in 1923 and 2006. The capital club finished the 1985/1986 England first division campaign in third place in the standings and that is the club’s highest placing in the top flight. West Ham United have strong rivalries with fellow London clubs, but Tottenham Hotspur are considered the club’s main rivals.
A number of top-class players were part of West Ham in the past and the likes of Joe Cole, Carlos Tevez, Paolo Di Canio, Paul Ince, Julian Dicks, Shaka Hislop, Michael Carrick and Slaven Bilic are some of them.
