Estadio Wanda Metropolitano will host Sunday’s local derby between Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano. Los Rojiblancos are low on spirits ahead of the Madrid derby as they suffered a loss in each of their last four league fixtures. All Marcos Llorente, Antoine Griezmann, and Sime Vrsaljko continue to miss out with injuries, while both Angel Correa and Renan Lodi are pushing for a start.
Los Vallecanos, on the other hand, did well to beat Deportivo Alaves 2-0 at home on Matchday 18, but given their anything but good away record, we predict that the reigning champions are going to return to winning ways on Sunday afternoon. Both Garcia Rivera and Martin Merquelanz are out of contention through injuries, but there are no suspended players in the away side ahead of the local derby. Radamel Falcao is likely to start from the bench once again.

Luis Suarez is a controversial footballer who plays for La Liga side Barcelona as a striker. The Uruguayan forward moved to Europe in 2006, signing a deal with Groningen. After scoring 10 goals in 27 league appearances for the club in the 2006/2007 Eredivisie campaign, he joined Ajax at the end of the season. The prolific striker scored no less than 81 goals in 110 appearances for Ajax and, as a result, Liverpool chiefs decided to sign him on 31 January 2011.
Suarez became the club’s most expensive signing and he was producing thrilling performances with the Anfield outfit between 2011 and 2014. Liverpool were on the verge of winning the 2013/2014 Premier League trophy, but Steven Gerrard slipped in the decider against Chelsea and they eventually finished the season in second place in the standings.
In 2014 Suarez joined Barcelona and he was the top scorer in the 2015/2016 La Liga campaign. He won the 2013/2014 Premier League Golden Boot as well and in 2011 he clinched the Copa America trophy with Uruguay.

Rayo Vallecano is a Spanish football club from the Valleas neighbourhood in Madrid and are founded in the year 1924. The club is playing in the Primera Division since 2011 after being in active in the lower divisions for a longer period of time. Rayo Vallecano currently plays it’s home games in the Teresa Rivero Stadium which is also known as the Nuevo Vallecas stadium and holds a capacity of 15 500 seats. The Nuevo Vallecas stadium is one of the smallest ones in the Primera Division. The club colors of Rayo Vallecano are white and red and is also known as Los Vallecanos. Rayo Vallecano is known for it’s ultra’s which are radical left winged political sided.
In the clubs history Rayo Vallecano never won any big prizes. The biggest achievement was in 2000 when the club qualified for the UEFA Cup after winning the Fair Play spot. Rayo Vallecano was one of the biggest surprises in Europe that season and even managed to get to the quarter finals where Rayo got eliminated by Deportivo Alaves. There are a lot of famous players that played for Rayo Vallecano during their career such as: Julen Lopetegui, Jordi Figueras, Victor Onokpo and Ismael Urzaiz.
