Athletic Bilbao
Monday’s football game between Cadiz and Athletic Club will bring down the curtain on day 23 of the new La Liga campaign. The Yellow Submarine aim to make amends for a 4-1 loss to Real Sociedad, with the team eyeing their first league win since January 10, 2021. The newcomers are eager to move away from the danger zone, but the game against Athletic Bilbao will be anything but a walk in the park for the hosts.
The Lions, on the other hand, dropped two points in a 1-1 draw with Valencia, and, no doubt, they are eager to get back on course in the Spanish top flight. Since Cadiz are on a three-game losing run in Primera Division, it seems as if the Basques will not have a better chance than this to get back on course. The good news for the visiting team is that Raul Garcia is back from suspension.

Alvaro Gimenez is a product of Elche football school who plays for fellow La Liga side Cadiz as a forward. Alvaro played for several Spanish clubs in the past, including Elche, Valencia B, Torrellano, Mallorca, Alcorcon, Almeria, before joining Birmingham City in the 2019/20 season.
After scoring only three goals in 24 appearances for the Blues in the Championship, Alvaro Gimenez returned to Spain at the end of the season, signing a deal with La Liga newcomers Cadiz. The Spanish attacker made his debut with the “Yellow Submarine” on October 4, 2020 in a 1-1 draw with Granada. His main position is centre-forward, but he is used as both left and right winger as well.
Gimenez’s preferred foot is left, and his contract with Cadiz should expire on June 30, 2023. The Cadiz attacker has three caps with the Spain U17 team, but he has yet to earn a call-up for the senior team.

Athletic Club (mostly known as Athletic de Bilbao) is a Spanish football club from the Bask region which is playing currently in the Primera Division. The club from Bilbao is playing in the highest Spanish division since its founded in 1928 and is next to Real Madrid and FC Barcelona for a longest period of time in the Primera Division. Athletic de Bilbao used to play until 2012 in the San Mames stadium (also known as La Catedral).

Athletic de Bilbao didn’t won any prizes in Europe yet but managed to be the runner up in 1977 and 2012 in the UEFA cup.
