Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Following a 1-1 draw with Celta Vigo, Levante will look to keep their survival hopes alive when they take on Elche in the opening match of round 26. Los Levantinos are not enjoying a season to remember, with the team collecting only 15 points to date, but this game could be the turning points for the rock-bottom side. All Nemanja Radoja, Ruben Vezo, Jose Campana, Sergio Postigo, and Shkodran Mustafi should miss out with injuries for the home team.
Los Franjiverdes, on the other hand, have been performing above expectations in the 2021/2022 season, and, as a result, they are on the right track to secure the La Liga survival. Since Levante want this triumph more than Elche, we predict that the visitors are going to return home empty-handed. Both Gerard Gumbau and Gonzalo Verdu are back from suspension, while the likes of Donald, Palacios, and Boye miss out with injuries.
Highlighted Player (José Campaña):
Jose Campana is a Spanish footballer who plays for Levante in La Liga as a midfielder. Born in Seville on May 31, 1993, Campana began his youth career in his home-town club Sevilla and he eventually played 20 games in La Liga for the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan outfit.
In 2013 he moved to England, signing a contract with Crystal Palace, but he made no more than six appearances in the league for the capital club. After ending his loan spell with Nurnberg in 2014, Jose Campana joined Serie A side Sampdoria, but he was immediately sent on loan to Porto. The Spanish midfielder played no more than two games for Porto in Primeira Liga and in 2015 he signed a loan deal with Spanish Segunda Division side Alcorcon.
In the summer of 2016 Campana moved to Levante and he has been playing for los Levantinos ever since. His main position is central midfield, but he is capable of playing as both defensive midfielder and attacking midfielder as well.
Highlighted Team (Elche):
Established in 1923, Elche is a Spanish club that competes in La Liga. Los Franjiverdes welcome their rivals at Estadio Manuel Martinez Valero, the stadium which can hold up to 33,732 spectators. The venue was opened on September 8, 1976.
Elche wear white shirts with green stripe and white shorts when playing at home, while black is the dominant colour of their away jersey. The club’s biggest success came in 1969 as Elche made it to the Copa del rey final. Los Franjiverdes faced Club Atletico de Bilbao in the Spanish Cup final, with the Basques winning the match by one goal to nil.
The likes of Mario Pasalic, Ivan Bolado, Garry Rodrigues, Goran Djorovic, Albert Nadj, Wakaso, Moha, Carlos Sanchez, Ioan Andone, Enzo Roco, Dominique Malonga, Richmond Boakye, and Sory Kaba are some of the notable players who were part of the team in the past. Elche have never represented Spain in European competitions.
