Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Buoyed by a 4-1 win over Deportivo Alaves, Real Madrid will be aiming to retain top position in the standings when they take on Levante on Matchday 2. Los Blancos are determined to regain the domestic trophy, but keep in mind that key defenders Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane left the club in the summer transfer window. As always, a man to watch in the away team will be Karim Benzema, who scored a brace in the triumph over Alaves.
Keep in mind, though, that important midfielders Dani Ceballos and Toni Kroos remain in the recovery room. Los Levantinos, on the other hand, kicked off the new Primera Division campaign with a 1-1 draw against Cadiz. Veteran attacker Jose Luis Morales continues where he left last season, but Real Madrid are likely to pose a much bigger threat for the hosts than their previous rivals. Summer signing Roberto Soldado remains on the sidelines through injury.
Highlighted Player (Coke):
Coke began his professional career at Rayo Vallecano, playing 180 games for the capital club between 2005 and 2011. The pacey full back joined Sevilla in June, 2011 and he made a right decision when he moved to the fellow La Liga side.
The Spanish footballer, who is capable of playing as both full back and a winger, won three UEFA Europa League trophies with los Sevillanos (2014, 2015, 2016) and he made it to the Spanish Cup final in the 2015/2016 season with the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan outfit. Sevilla, though, failed to make life difficult for Barcelona in the title game. After spending five years in Andalusia, Coke signed a three-year contract with Schalke on 31 July, 2016 for a fee of €5 million.
However, before the start of the 2016/2017 Bundesliga campaign he suffered a serious injury in a warm-up game against Bologna. Speaking of his international career, Coke has one cap for Spain U16, but he has yet to make his debut for the first team.
Highlighted Team (Real Madrid):
Real Madrid is a Spanish football club based in Madrid. Real Madrid participate in La Liga (Primera Division) and they have won 32 domestic titles. On the other hand, los Blancos have won 13 European Cup titles and that is the main reason why they are considered the biggest football club in the world.
Real Madrid play their home matches at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and the capacity of the stadium is 84,454. Cristiano Ronaldo is the club’s most successful footballer in the 21st century and the Portuguese superstar has won two Golden Ball awards.
The likes of Alfredo Di Stefano, Zinedine Zidane, Raul Gonzalez Blanco, David Beckham and Iker Casillas are star players who were part of the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu outfit in the past. Real Madrid’s bitterest rivals are Barcelona, but the rivalry between local rivals Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid is big as well. Real Madrid’s home kit is white and, as a result, the team’s nickname is los Blancos (the Whites).
