Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Mallorca and Real Betis square off against each other at Visit Mallorca Estadi on day 2 of the new La Liga campaign. Los Bermellones did well to hold Athletic Club to a goalless draw in their opener, and they are now on a quest to record their first win of the process. Mallorca are a real force to be reckoned with at home, but they will have a big fish to fry in Saturday’s clash. There are no fresh selection worries in the home team ahead of the visit of Betis.
The Andalusians, on the other hand, rolled over ten-man Elche 3-0 in the opening match of the season, meaning that they are high on spirits ahead of the trip to Palma de Mallorca. Real Betis are more of a team than Mallorca, but seeing that los Bermellones are tough to beat at home, the share of spoils is on the horizon. Manuel Pellegrini is unlikely to make changes to the team that defeated los Franjiverdes at the weekend.
Highlighted Player (Joan Sastre):
Joan Sastre, who started his youth career at Mallorca back in 2009, has been playing for los Bermellones ever since. The pacey right back was born in Porreres, Spain on April 30, 1997 and it has to be noted that he has two caps with la Roja U19 team. Joan Sastre has established himself as a first-team regular at Mallorca, with the defender making 29 appearances in the Segunda Division last term.
The Spaniard was deployed in the starting line-up for the decider against Deportivo La Coruna where Mallorca emerged triumphant (3-0) and secured promotion to La Liga. Joan Sastre’s contract with los Bermellones should expire on June 30, 2023. His preferred foot is right.
