Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan will host Wednesday’s postponed fixture between Sevilla and Elche, the two teams with totally different ambitions in the season finale. Los Sevillanos aim to build on a 1-0 win over their local rivals Real Betis, and we are positive that they will go all guns blazing at the relegation strugglers. Since Aleix Vidal should be the only absentee in the home team, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the home team.
Los Franjiverdes, on the other hand, are fighting hard to avoid relegation to Segunda Division. Elche produced a fine display against Real Madrid, but Karim Benzema’s late goal eventually helped los Blancos pick up all three points from the match. Anyhow, los Franjiverdes are not regarded as good travellers, and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Sevilla’s party at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. Both Alamo and Rigoni remain in Elche’s recovery room.
Highlighted Player (Diego Carlos):
Diego Carlos Santos Silva is a Brazilian footballer who plays for Nantes as a defender. His main position is centre-back and his preferred foot is right. Diego Carlos began his youth career at America-SP and in 2010 he moved to Desportivo Brasil. After spending the 2012/2013 season on loan at Sao Paulo, the 185-cm-tall defender returned to Desportivo Brasil.
However, he made his first-team debut with Madureira during his spell with the club (2014). In 2014 Diego Carlos signed a contract with Portuguese club Estoril Praia and he scored two goals in 39 appearances for the Primeira Liga club. It has to be noted, though, that he played for Porto B (on loan) in the 2014/2015 season.
Diego Carlos moved to French club Nantes in the summer of 2016 and you should bear in mind that he quickly established himself as a first-team regular with les Canaris. The Brazilian footballer scored two goals in 34 appearances for Nantes in the 2016/2017 Ligue 1 campaign. His contract with the Ligue 1 side expires on June 20, 2021.
Highlighted Team (Elche):
Established in 1923, Elche is a Spanish club that competes in La Liga. Los Franjiverdes welcome their rivals at Estadio Manuel Martinez Valero, the stadium which can hold up to 33,732 spectators. The venue was opened on September 8, 1976.
Elche wear white shirts with green stripe and white shorts when playing at home, while black is the dominant colour of their away jersey. The club’s biggest success came in 1969 as Elche made it to the Copa del rey final. Los Franjiverdes faced Club Atletico de Bilbao in the Spanish Cup final, with the Basques winning the match by one goal to nil.
The likes of Mario Pasalic, Ivan Bolado, Garry Rodrigues, Goran Djorovic, Albert Nadj, Wakaso, Moha, Carlos Sanchez, Ioan Andone, Enzo Roco, Dominique Malonga, Richmond Boakye, and Sory Kaba are some of the notable players who were part of the team in the past. Elche have never represented Spain in European competitions.
