Our prediction for this Scottish Premiership match:
Dens Park will host Tuesday’s Premiership game between Dundee and Hibernian, the two teams who sit in the opposite halves of the table. Dundee are stuck at the bottom of the table, with only 26 points in their pocket. The Dark Blues failed to secure the elite division survival, meaning that they are low on spirits ahead of the midweek fixture.
All Legzdins, Sheridan, and Ashcroft should miss out with injuries for the home team, while the likes of Anderson, Byrne, Mulligan, and McMullan are pushing for recalls. The Hibs, on the other hand, occupy second place in the Premiership relegation group. Hibernian aim to melt Livingston’s advantage in the table, and they should take advantage of Dundee’s anything but fine form. As for the away side, both Nisbet and Magennis have been struggling with injuries of late.
Highlighted Player (Christian Doidge):
Over the years Christian Doidge has established himself as one of the best attackers in Scotland Premiership. Born on August 25, 1992 in Newport, Doidge is a Wales international who plays for Hibernian in the Scottish top flight.
He is a product of the Southampton football academy, but he did not see any game action in the Premier League with the Saints. The towering striker played for Bristol Rovers during his youth career as well before joining Cwmbran Celtic at senior level. He played for the likes of Barry Town, Carmanthen Town, Dag & Red, Dartford (loan), Forest Green Rovers, and Bolton Wanderers (loan) as well before signing a deal with the Hibs.
Christian Doidge made his Scotland Premier League debut on August 3, 2019 in a 1-0 win over St. Mirren. The Wales attacker scored his first league goal for the Hibs against the same opponent three months late. Doidge has yet to receive a call-up for the Wales national football team.
Highlighted Team (Hibernian):
Founded in August 1875, Hibernian are the Scottish Premier League team that play home matches at Easter Road. The capacity of the venue is 20,421, and it was opened in 1893. The Hibs wear light green shirts with white sleeves and white shorts in home matches, while light grey is the dominant colour of their away kit.
Hibernian clinched their first Scottish league trophy back in the 1902/03 season, and they were the dominant force in Scottish football in the early 50s, securing three titles more from 1948 to 1952. The Easter Road outfit recorded their biggest win on September 3, 1881, with the team rolling over Black Watch Highlanders 22-1.
In February 1961, the Hibs suffered the biggest defeat in the club's history as they were beaten by Airdrie 11-1. Hibernian and Hearts face each other in the Edinburgh derby. The rivalry between the two clubs is considered one of the oldest rivalries in world football.
