Our prediction for this Scottish Premiership match:
Rangers will look to stay in a two-horse title race with Celtic when they face Dundee United at Tannadice Park on Sunday. The Gers are one point behind the league leaders, meaning that they are eager to pick up all three points from the match. Leon Balogun has joined Ianis Hagi and Nnamdi Ofoborh in the recovery room, while Borna Barisic returns to the starting XI. As always, a man to keep an eye on in the away team will be Alfredo Morelos, who has netted 11 goals in the Scottish top flight so far this season.
The Terrors, on the other hand, have been showing signs of improvement of late. Following the Premiership win over Motherwell (2-0), Dundee United eliminated Partick in the Scottish Cup last 16, but they will have a mountain to climb in Sunday’s clash. Since Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst can count on key players for the Tannadice Park showdown, away win should be considered.
Highlighted Player (Scott McMann):
Born on July 9, 1996, Scott McMann is a Scottish footballer who plays for Hamilton Academical as a defender. His primary position is a centre-back, but he is used as both left and right back as well. Scott McMann is a product of the Hamilton Academical football academy, and he has been playing for the senior team since 2013.
In 2016 he made seven appearances in the league during his loan spell with Clyde. McMann, who represented both Scotland U16 and U17 teams in the past, wears the number 3 on his shirt. The right-footed defender made his Scotland Premier League debut with Hamilton in a 1-0 win over St Mirren on May 23, 2015.
The Scottish footballer scored his first goal for the club in a 3-1 win at Clyde in the League Cup on July 17, 2019. Scott McMann wears the number 3 jersey at Hamilton Academical.
Highlighted Team (Rangers):
Glasgow Rangers are one of the two synonyms for Scottish Football. Glasgow Rangers were founded back in 1872 and they have been playing an important role in the Scottish top flight ever since. The Gers won their 54th Scottish Premier League title in the 2010/2011 season, but winning of European Cup Winners’ Cup trophy in 1972 is considered the club’s biggest success.
Glasgow Rangers defeated Dynamo Moscow in the final of the competition, with the likes of Stein and Johnston (two goals) scoring for the Scottish side. Celtic are considered the club’s biggest rivals and there have always been fireworks when the two teams meet in the Old Firm derby. The likes of Paul Gascoigne, David Weir, Stefan Klos, Chris Boyd, Ian Durrant and Kenny Miller are some of Rangers’ former notable players.
It has to be noted that the Gers welcome their rivals at Ibrox Stadium, the venue with the capacity of 50,817. Rangers’ support is largely drawn from the Protestant Unionist community.
