Our prediction for this Scottish Premiership match:
After suffering a 2-1 loss to Celtic on Wednesday evening, Hearts will look to return to winning ways when they host Motherwell to their Tynecastle Park on Matchday 24. Hearts failed to extend their winning run to four games in midweek, but they are surely capable of beating Motherwell in front of home fans. Defender Michael Smith, who limped off with injury in the midweek loss, is unlikely to feature against the Well, but he should be the only absentee in the home side.
Graham Alexander’s troops, on the other hand, head into the match following a goalless draw with Hibernian. Motherwell have been anything but impressive on the road this season, which is probably the main reason why we are tempted to put our money on the hosts this time out. Important defender Liam Donnelly misses out through suspension for the away side.
Highlighted Player (Liam Boyce):
Liam Boyce is a Northern Ireland international who plays for Burton Albion in the League One. Boyce was born in Belfast on April 8, 1991 and he started his senior career at Cliftonville.
The 184-cm tall attacker played for the likes of Werder Bremen II and Ross County as well before becoming Burton Albion’s record signing in the 2017 summer transfer window.Liam Boyce missed almost entire 2017/2018 season through a serious knee injury, returning to action on February 3, 2018. Speaking of his international career, Boyce made his Northern Ireland debut against Scotland on February 9, 2011, coming as a substitute for Niall McGinn.
Six years later, on June 2, 2017, he scored his first goal for the Northern Ireland national team in a 1-0 win over New Zealand. Liam Boyce’s main position is centre-forward, but he is capable of producing fine performances as a second striker as well.
Highlighted Team (Motherwell):
Motherwell are professional football club that compete in the Scotland Premiership. The Steelmen play home games at Fir Park, the stadium which can hold up to 13,677 spectators, wearing amber and claret shirts.
White, on the other hand, is the dominant colour of the club’s away kit. Founded in 1886, Motherwell won their first domestic trophy in the 1931/32 season, leaving Scottish giants Rangers and Celtic behind them in the standings. Speaking of the Scottish Cup, the Steelmen have two titles in the cup competition. In the 1951/52 season, Motherwell defeated Dundee 4-0 in the Scottish Cup final, with the team repeating the success 39 years later as they outplayed Dundee United 4-3 in the title game.
The likes of Hamilton Academical and Airdrieonians are regarded as the club’s bitterest rivals. The games between these clubs are known as the Lanarkshire derby. Hughie Ferguson is leading the club’s all-time goal-scoring chart as he netted 284 goals for the Steelmen in league matches.
