Our prediction for this Scottish Premiership match:
Rangers will look to keep their 100% record intact when they take on Hibernian at Easter Road in the Premiership round 4. The Hibs have been having their ups and downs at the start of the season, with the team beating St Johnstone, sharing the spoils with Hearts, while losing to Livingston in their last league match. Keep in mind, though, that Lee Johnson’s men failed to turn their dominance into the equalizing goal at the weekend.
Since all Demetri Mitchell, Lewis Stevenson, Aiden McGeady, Kyle Magennis, and Kevin Nisbet miss the game with injuries, we are not tempted to put our money on the underdogs. The Gers, on the other hand, faced no difficulties in a 4-0 win over St Johnstone, and given their splendid form, we predict that they will give fans yet another reason for celebration on Saturday. All Kemar Roofe, Filip Helander, and Ianis Hagi remain in the recovery room, while top scorer Antonio Colak could be rested for the Champions League qualifier against PSV.
Highlighted Player (Christian Doidge):
Over the years Christian Doidge has established himself as one of the best attackers in Scotland Premiership. Born on August 25, 1992 in Newport, Doidge is a Wales international who plays for Hibernian in the Scottish top flight.
He is a product of the Southampton football academy, but he did not see any game action in the Premier League with the Saints. The towering striker played for Bristol Rovers during his youth career as well before joining Cwmbran Celtic at senior level. He played for the likes of Barry Town, Carmanthen Town, Dag & Red, Dartford (loan), Forest Green Rovers, and Bolton Wanderers (loan) as well before signing a deal with the Hibs.
Christian Doidge made his Scotland Premier League debut on August 3, 2019 in a 1-0 win over St. Mirren. The Wales attacker scored his first league goal for the Hibs against the same opponent three months late. Doidge has yet to receive a call-up for the Wales national football team.
Highlighted Team (Rangers):
Glasgow Rangers are one of the two synonyms for Scottish Football. Glasgow Rangers were founded back in 1872 and they have been playing an important role in the Scottish top flight ever since. The Gers won their 54th Scottish Premier League title in the 2010/2011 season, but winning of European Cup Winners’ Cup trophy in 1972 is considered the club’s biggest success.
Glasgow Rangers defeated Dynamo Moscow in the final of the competition, with the likes of Stein and Johnston (two goals) scoring for the Scottish side. Celtic are considered the club’s biggest rivals and there have always been fireworks when the two teams meet in the Old Firm derby. The likes of Paul Gascoigne, David Weir, Stefan Klos, Chris Boyd, Ian Durrant and Kenny Miller are some of Rangers’ former notable players.
It has to be noted that the Gers welcome their rivals at Ibrox Stadium, the venue with the capacity of 50,817. Rangers’ support is largely drawn from the Protestant Unionist community.
