Our prediction for this Scottish Premiership match:
Sunday’s football game at Fir Park pits together Motherwell and Rangers, the two top-table sides. The Well aim to recover from a 4-0 loss to Celtic and they are likely to fight tooth and nail against Rangers in order to claim a major scalp. Both Halliday and Stamatelopoulos are pushing for recalls to the starting XI, while trio Callachan – Robinson – Slattery remains in the recovery room.
The Gers, on the other hand, aim to recover from a shocking 2-1 loss to St. Mirren in the local derby. As Rangers will not have a better chance than this to return to winning ways, we are tempted to place our bets on the visiting side. In their last meeting at the venue in the national championship, Rangers recorded a routine 2-0 win over Motherwell. Leon Balogun limped off with injury in the last league match, with fellow defender Robin Propper likely to step up.
Highlighted Player (Tom Lawrence):
Tom Lawrence is a Welsh footballer who plays as a winger for Championship side Derby County. Born in Wrexham (Wales) on January 13, 1994, Tom Lawrence played for Everton and Manchester United during his youth career.
The 180-cm-tall footballer, though, made no more than one appearances for the Red Devils in the Premier League as he was immediately sent on loan to Carlisle United. The Wales international played for the likes of Yeovil Town, Leicester City, Rotherham United, Blackburn Rovers, Cardiff City and Ipswich Town as well before signing a contract with Derby County. Tom Lawrence’s main position is left winger, but he is used as both second striker and right winger as well.
The Derby County man made his Wales debut in November 2015 in a 3-2 loss to Netherlands. The highlight of his career is the goal he scored against Georgia in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers. His preferred foot is right and he wears No. 10 jersey at Derby County.
Highlighted Team (Motherwell):
Motherwell are professional football club that compete in the Scotland Premiership. The Steelmen play home games at Fir Park, the stadium which can hold up to 13,677 spectators, wearing amber and claret shirts.
White, on the other hand, is the dominant colour of the club’s away kit. Founded in 1886, Motherwell won their first domestic trophy in the 1931/32 season, leaving Scottish giants Rangers and Celtic behind them in the standings. Speaking of the Scottish Cup, the Steelmen have two titles in the cup competition. In the 1951/52 season, Motherwell defeated Dundee 4-0 in the Scottish Cup final, with the team repeating the success 39 years later as they outplayed Dundee United 4-3 in the title game.
The likes of Hamilton Academical and Airdrieonians are regarded as the club’s bitterest rivals. The games between these clubs are known as the Lanarkshire derby. Hughie Ferguson is leading the club’s all-time goal-scoring chart as he netted 284 goals for the Steelmen in league matches.
