Our prediction for this Scottish Premiership match:
St. Johnstone and Motherwell square off against each other at McDiarmid Park in what is expected to be a close Premiership encounter. The Saints suffered a dip in form, with the team collecting only one point in total from the previous three league fixtures. St. Johnstone are not regarded as good hosts, which is yet another reason why we are not tempted to put our money on Callum Davidson’s troops. All Craig Bryson, Callum Booth, Chris Kane, Shaun Rooney, and David Wotherspoon are out of contention with injuries.
The Well, on the other hand, aim to make amends for the Scottish Cup defeat to Hibernian. Motherwell are eager to put an end to their four-match winless run, and we do not believe that they will have a better chance than this to get back on course. Midfielder Barry Maguire is sidelined with a muscle injury, but he should be the only absentee in the away team.
Highlighted Player (Ali Crawford ):
Born in Lanark, Scotland on July 30, 1991, Ali Crawford is a professional footballer who plays for Doncaster Rovers as a midfielder. As a kid, Crawford played for a local club Milton Rovers before joining Heart of Midlothian football school.
He continued playing for the Hearts first team and after scoring 31 goals in 227 appearances for the club, he moved to Doncaster Rovers in the summer of 2018. Ali Crawford signed a two-year deal with the Donny, scoring his first ever goal for the club in a 3-2 win over Rochdale on October 13, 2018.
The Scottish footballer, has yet to make his debut with the national team, plays for Doncaster Rovers as a left midfielder, but he is used as both central and attacking midfielder as well. His preferred foot is right and he has a contract with the League One side until June 30, 2020.
Highlighted Team (Motherwell):
Motherwell are professional football club that compete in the Scotland Premiership. The Steelmen play home games at Fir Park, the stadium which can hold up to 13,677 spectators, wearing amber and claret shirts.
White, on the other hand, is the dominant colour of the club’s away kit. Founded in 1886, Motherwell won their first domestic trophy in the 1931/32 season, leaving Scottish giants Rangers and Celtic behind them in the standings. Speaking of the Scottish Cup, the Steelmen have two titles in the cup competition. In the 1951/52 season, Motherwell defeated Dundee 4-0 in the Scottish Cup final, with the team repeating the success 39 years later as they outplayed Dundee United 4-3 in the title game.
The likes of Hamilton Academical and Airdrieonians are regarded as the club’s bitterest rivals. The games between these clubs are known as the Lanarkshire derby. Hughie Ferguson is leading the club’s all-time goal-scoring chart as he netted 284 goals for the Steelmen in league matches.
