Our prediction for this Segunda Division match:
Following back-to-back draws with Las Palmas and Mirandes, Leganes will look to return to winning ways in La Liga 2 when they take on Ibiza on Sunday afternoon. The capital club have been impressive at the back of late, and they are likely to rely on their rock-solid defence against Ibiza. Jose Manuel Arnaiz serves a one-game ban, but Juan Munoz is back from suspension.
The visitors, on the other hand, head into the match following a 2-2 draw with Huesca. Ibiza are not regarded as good travellers, and seeing that Leganes want to keep their playoffs hopes alive, we do not believe that the visiting team are going to grab something from the match. All Marcos Mauro, Suleiman Camara, and Javi Vazquez are banned for the clash, but there are no fresh injury worries in the away team ahead of the trip to Madrid.
Highlighted Player (Allan Nyom):
After playing amateur football in his homeland France, Allan Nyom began his professional career at Arles-Avignon. The pacey full back made 37 appearances for the club in the 2008/2009 season and at the end of the campaign he signed a deal with Serie A side Udinese. However, given the great collaboration between Udinese and Granada, he was immediately sent on loan to the Estadio Nuevo los Carmenes outfit.
Granada finished the 2009/2010 season in top position in the Segunda Division and, as a result, they secured automatic promotion to the Spanish top flight. Allan Nyom established himself as a first-team regular and it has to be noted that he made 32 appearances for los Granadinos in the 2011/2012 La Liga campaign. After spending five seasons at Granada, Nyom joined Watford in 2015 and he moved to fellow Premier League side WBA at the end of the season.
The WBA defender represents Cameroon on the international stage and he made his debut for Les Lions Indomptables on November 11, 2011.
Highlighted Team (Leganes):
Leganes are a Spanish football club that have mostly been playing in lower leagues. Los Pepineros play their home games at Batarque (Madrid) and the capacity of the stadium is just 8,138. Leganes secured their promotion to the Spanish La Liga for the first time ever in 2016 and, no doubt, that is considered the club’s biggest success.
Leganes’ bitterest rivals are fellow capital club Getafe and there have always been fireworks when the two teams take on each other in the South Madrid derby.
The colour of the team’s home kit is white and blue, whilst their away kits are green. The likes of Pierre Webo, Samuel Eto’o, Ivan Zarandona, Jose Chamot, Catanha, Ruben Falcon, Jordi Lardin and Pedro Lago are famous players who were part of the Batarque outfit in the past. Lady Maria Victoria Pavon is the first female president in the history of the club and she has been in charge of the club since 2009.
