Our prediction for this Segunda Division match:
Malaga will look to kick off the new La Liga 2 campaign in style when they take on Mirandes at Estadio La Rosaleda. Los Boquerones failed to win the previous four warm-up games, but they are still seen as slim favourites to win the opener. A man to watch in the home team will be new goalkeeper Dani Martin, who is widely to make his debut on Monday evening.
Mirandes chiefs, on the other hand, made a number of changes to the squad in the summer transfer window, and we believe that new recruits will need time to adapt to the new surroundings. Since los Rojillos are not regarded as good travelers, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the Andalusians. In their last meeting in Segunda Division Mirandes defeated Malaga, meaning that the hosts are hungry for revenge.
Highlighted Player (David Lomban):
David Lomban was born in Aviles, Asturias on 5 June, 1987 and he began his senior career at Valencia. The 185-cm-tall defender played 37 matches for Valencia B and he made no more than three appearances for the first team. After spending the 2009/2010 season on loan at Salamanca, he joined Xerez in 2010 and two years later he signed for Barcelona B.
David Lomban played just one season for the Catalan outfit in Segunda Division and then he decided to take a bigger step towards a brighter future as he joined La Liga side Elche. After making 62 appearances for the club, he signed a three-year contract with Granada on 10 August, 2015. Lomban played 31 games for los Granadinos in the 2015/2016 La Liga campaign, but he failed to find the net for the Andalusian outfit in the top flight.
David Lomban’s contract with Granada expires on 30 June, 2018. Speaking of his international career, the Granada defender has 11 caps for Spain U17 and he played one match for Spain U20 team as well.
Highlighted Team (Mirandes):
Mirandes is a Spanish club founded on May 3, 1927. Los Rojillos compete in Segunda division, with the team still eyeing their first ever promotion to La Liga. Mirandes’ home colours are red and black, while their away kit is mainly light blue.
Mirandes did remarkably well to make it to the Copa del Rey semis in the 2019/20 season, with the team outplaying the likes of Celta, Villarreal, and Sevilla in the process. Real Sociedad, though, proved to be a big catch for Mirandes in the Spanish Cup semis. Los Rojillos welcome their rivals at Estadio Municipal de Anduva. The stadium was opened back in 1950, with the venue being able to host 5,759 spectators.
Mirandes played their first game on June 4, 1927, with the team defeating Arabarra thanks to Fidel Angulo’s goal. Zaragoza and Alaves are considered one of the club’s main rivals. Los Rojillos have won Castilla and Leon Cup on two occasions (2011, 2012).
