Our prediction for this Segunda Division match:
All eyes will be on Estadio Heliodoro Rodriguez Lopez when Tenerife and Las Palmas face each other in the Segunda Division round 32. Los Insulares have been struggling in front of goal of late, and they must be low on spirits ahead of Saturday’s clash. Talented forward Ivan Romero is widely expected to return to the starting XI, while there are no fresh injury worries in the home team.
La Union Deportiva, on the other hand, are determined to return to the Spanish top flight. Las Palmas have a chance to overtake Eibar in top position, and given Tenerife’s anything but good form, we predict that the visitors are going to pick up all three points from the match. Former Betis forward Loren Moron is likely to return to the starting line-up, whilst all Marvin Park, Marc Cardona, and Sandro Ramirez remain on the sidelines with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Vitolo):
Over the years Victor Machin Perez - Vitolo has established himself as one of Sevilla’s key players. The pacey winger, who is capable of playing as a forward as well, won his third consecutive Europa League trophy with los Sevillanos in 2016.
Vitolo was born in Las Palmas on 2 November, 1989 and he played for his home-town club Las Palmas from 2010 to 2013. The Spanish footballer joined Sevilla on 28 June, 2013 and, no doubt, he made the right decision when he moved to Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. Vitolo played one game for Spain in the Euro 2016 qualifiers, but he failed to make the final cut.
However, he established himself as a first-team regular under Julen Lopetegui. Vitolo scored his first goal for La Furia Roja in an 8-0 win over Liechtenstein and he provided an assist for David Silva as well. He has a contract with Sevilla which expires on 30 June, 2020.
Highlighted Team (Tenerife):
Tenerife is a Spanish club based in the Canary Islands. Tenerife were founded on November 21, 1912, with the team playing home games at Heliodoro Rodriguez Lopez. The stadium was opened on July 25, 1925 and it can hold up to 22,824 spectators.
Los Insulares established them as the elite division club in the 1990s, but in 1999 the team suffer relegation to La Liga 2. Tenerife played in la liga two seasons more (2001/02, 2009/10), but they have been competing in lower leagues ever since. Los Insulares wear white and blue shirts when playing at home, whereas light green is the dominant colour of their away kit.
Tenerife participated in the UEFA Cup in the 1993/94 season, with the team eliminating the likes of Auxerre and Olympiakos before losing to Juventus in the last 16. Three years later the Spanish club did remarkably well to make it to the UEFA Cup semis. Las Palmas are considered Tenerife’s main rivals.
