Following a goalless draw with Cittadella, Brescia will look to return to winning ways in the Serie B when they face Cagliari on Matchday 28. Le Rondinelle have been struggling in 2023, and, as a result, their Serie B status is in great danger. Both Giacomo Olzer and Massimo Bertagnoli are out of contention with injuries, but there are no suspended players in the home team.
The Sardinians, on the other hand, have drawn each of their last three league matches. Since Cagliari have recorded only one win on the road this season, we do not believe that they are capable of picking up more than one point from Sunday’s clash. Marko Rog limped off through injury in the goalless draw with Genoa, with fellow midfielder Christos Kourfalidis likely to step up. The likes of Goldaniga, Di Pardo, and Viola are out of contention through injuries, speaking of the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Gianluca Lapadula):
Gianluca Lapadula, also known as Lapagol, due to his goalscoring abilities, was born in Turin and started his career at Juventus youth team, but was released because he wasn’t doing well in his studies. After the departure with Juventus, Lapadula perfected his goalscoring skills in lower Italian leagues and even spent one year in NK Gorica, Slovenia.
During his spell in Ravenna, he managed to finish the season 2012/13 as the top scorer in the group, netting 24 goals in the process. For a long period of time, the 28-year-old was Parma’s player, but he went on loans often, and, after Parma went bankrupt, Lapagol moved to Pescara. With 30 goals in 43 appearances, the striker caught the eye of Serie A giant Milan. He netted his first goal for the Rossoneri only three minutes after he came on as a substitute.
The following season Lapagol became the striker of Genoa. Even though he was called to play for Peru, the Genoa hitman decided to represent Italy, getting his first call to the senior squad in November 2016. However, he never made an official appearance for Italy, since he only played an unofficial friendly against San Marino, when he scored a hat-trick.

Hosting their rivals at Stadio Mario Rigamonti, the stadium with the capacity of 16,743, Brescia are Italian team founded back in 1911 under the name of Brescia Football Club. Le Rondinelle are well known for their blue and white shirts, but white is dominant colour in their away kit.
Atalanta are considered one of the club’s fiercest rivals, with the two teams facing each other in the Derby of Lombardy. The Stadio Mario Rigamonti outfit have rivalries with the likes of Inter, Hellas Verona and Cremonese as well. Roberto Baggio, who has 56 caps with the Italy national football team, is considered the most famous footballer who played for Brescia.
Robi scored 45 goals in 95 appearances in the Serie A for le Rondinelle. It has to be noted that the likes of Andrea Pirlo, Gheorge Hagi, Pep Guardiola, Luca Toni, Luigi Di Biagio and Dario Hubner were part of Brescia in the past as well. However, Mario Rigamonti is the club’s biggest legend as he died in the Superga air disaster back in 1949.
