Our prediction for this Serie B match:
Brescia will be aiming to make amends for a 2-1 loss to Parma when they face Catanzaro on Saturday afternoon. Le Rondinelle are flying much higher at home ground, but this match will be anything but a walk in the park for Rolando Maran’s troops. Defender Matthieu Huard is banned for the match, while goalkeeper Lorenzo Andrenacci remains on the sidelines with a shoulder problem.
Le Aquile del Sud, on the other hand, failed to impress in a 1-0 loss to Reggiana at the weekend, which is probably the main reason why we are going to bet on Brescia, who have turned their Stadio Mario Rigamonti into a real fortress. As for the away team, midfielder Andrea Ghion is a major doubt and he will be assessed ahead of the kick-off. It has to be noted that Brescia emerged triumphant in each of the previous three meetings between the two sides in the Italian second tier.
Highlighted Team (Brescia):
Hosting their rivals at Stadio Mario Rigamonti, the stadium with the capacity of 16,743, Brescia are Italian team founded back in 1911 under the name of Brescia Football Club. Le Rondinelle are well known for their blue and white shirts, but white is dominant colour in their away kit.
Atalanta are considered one of the club’s fiercest rivals, with the two teams facing each other in the Derby of Lombardy. The Stadio Mario Rigamonti outfit have rivalries with the likes of Inter, Hellas Verona and Cremonese as well. Roberto Baggio, who has 56 caps with the Italy national football team, is considered the most famous footballer who played for Brescia.
Robi scored 45 goals in 95 appearances in the Serie A for le Rondinelle. It has to be noted that the likes of Andrea Pirlo, Gheorge Hagi, Pep Guardiola, Luca Toni, Luigi Di Biagio and Dario Hubner were part of Brescia in the past as well. However, Mario Rigamonti is the club’s biggest legend as he died in the Superga air disaster back in 1949.
