Our prediction for this Serie B match:
Frosinone kickstart their Serie B campaign with a match against Avellino at their Stadio Benito Stirpe. The Canarini did well to eliminate Monza in their Coppa Italia opener, meaning that they are brimming with confidence ahead of Avellino’s visit. Goalkeeper Alen Sherri is rated doubtful for the home team after picking up a knock in the Italian Cup game, while Giorgi Kvernadze should sneak into the starting XI after scoring a late winner at Monza.
The Biancoverdi, on the other hand, aim to impress on their return to the Italian second tier. Avellino, though, are not regarded as good travellers and given Frosinone’s fine display in the Coppa Italia round 1, we predict that the hosts will emerge triumphant in Sunday’s clash. The Lupi suffered a shocking 1-0 loss to Audace Cerignola in their Italian Cup opener, which is yet another reason why home win should be considered.
Highlighted Team (Frosinone):

Back in 1912 Frosinone were founded as Unione Sportiva Frusinate and it has to be noted that the colors of the team were originally red and blue. They were later changed to the current yellow and blue and the Canarini have been wearing those kits ever since. Frosinone made their first ever appearance in the Serie A in the 2015/2016 season, but they failed to secure the promotion.
The Canarini finished the season in 19th place in the standings, eight points behind Udinese, who eventually avoided relegation to Serie B. However, two years later Frosinone returned to the Italian top flight as they defeated Palermo 3-2 on aggregate in the play-offs final.
The club play their home games at Stadio Benito Stirpe, the stadium that was opened in 2017. The venue can hold 16,227 spectators and it is owned by the Municipality of Frosinone. The construction cost €20 million.
