Our prediction for this Serie A match:
Napoli will be aiming to move one step closer to booking their place in the Champions League when they face Fiorentina at Stadio Artemio Franchi. The Neapolitans rolled over Udinese 5-1 in midweek, but they can’t afford any complacency in Sunday’s showdown. Even though key defender Kalidou Koulibaly remains in the recovery room, away win should be considered as Napoli are eager to secure a top-four finish.
The Viola, on the other hand, have already secure the Serie A survival. Since Fiorentina have little to play for in their last home game of the season, we are tempted to put our money on Genaro Gattuso’s troops. Experienced midfielder Borja Valero is out of contention through injury, but the former Villarreal man should be the only absentee in the home team. In the first half of the season Napoli rolled over Fiorentina 6-0 at Stadio Diego Maradona.
Highlighted Player (Erick Pulgar):
Eric Pulgar is a Chilean international who started his senior career at Deportes Antofagasta. Pulgar is a 186-cm-tall midfielder, who is capable of playing as a centre back as well and he is well known for his speed. After making 38 league appearances for the club he joined fellow Chilean outfit Universidad Catolica in 2014.
The deal was confirmed on 28 June, 2014 and the Chilean defender joined los Cruzados for a fee of $ 500 000. In 2015 he decided to move to Europe and he signed a contract with Bologna for an undisclosed fee. The deal was sealed on 20 August. Erick Pulgar represented Chile at the 2016 Copa America, but he made no more than one appearance for La Roja at the tournament in USA.
He came on as a substitute to replace injured midfielder Pablo Hernandez in a 2-0 win over Colombia. It is well known that Chile won the 2016 Copa America, beating star-studded Argentina in the title game.
Highlighted Team (Napoli):
SSC Napoli is an Italian football club from the city of Naples which is playing currently in the Serie A. The club was founded officially in 1926 but the history from Napoli reaches back to 1904 with the club Naples Foot-Ball & Cricket Club that fused with Internazionale Napoli and was called FBC Internaples.
After 4 seasons the club changed its name to SSC Napoli (Societa Sportiva Calcio).
In the end of the eighties Napoli had the biggest success in the club history with the Argentinian legend Diego Maradona. Diego Maradona was able to win the league title twice, the national cup and the UEFA cup. The moment Maradona left the club Napoli got into big financial trouble.
In 2004 the local club was bankrupt. Despite the help of financial investors the club got regulated to the Serie C. After 6 years of playing in lower divisions Napoli managed to get back in the Serie A in season 2007/2008. Famous players that played for the club from Naples are: Maradona, Zola, Cavani, Blanc, Di Canio, Cannavaro.
