Parma will look to impress on their return to the Serie A when they take on Fiorentina at legendary Stadio Ennio Tardini on Saturday afternoon. The Gli Emiliani are back to the Italian top flight following a three-year absence and, no doubt, they are eager to put an end to their nine-game losing run in the national championship. The club chiefs managed to keep hold of key players in the summer transfer window, but they still face a difficult task against Fiorentina.
The Viola, on the other hand, are eyeing a spot in European competitions. Towering Serbia centre-back is no longer part of the team, while the club chiefs have added the likes of Marin Pongracic, Moise Kean, and Amir Richardson to the club, as well as former Man Utd goalkeeper David de Gea. Gaetano Castrovilli has joined Lazio this summer. Anyhow, the share of spoils is on the cards at “Tardini” as Parma are tough to beat at home.
Highlighted Player (Christian Kouame):
Christian Kouame is an Ivory Coast international who has been playing for Serie A side Genoa since 2018. Kouame started his youth career at Prato and after ending his loan spells with the likes of Sassuolo and Inter, he returned to Stadio Lungobisenzio.
The 185-cm-tall forward made his professional debut with Prato on September 6, 2015 in a 2-1 loss to Pisa. Christian Kouame started the match, but he was replaced by Alberto Aladje after 66 minutes. The Genoa attacker, though, has yet to earn a call-up for the Ivory Coast national team. He has two caps for the Ivory Coast U23 team, but he is still eyeing his senior team debut.
His main position is centre-forward, but he is used as both left and right winger as well. The Genoa footballer was born in Abijan on December 6, 1997 and he has a contract with the Rossoblu until June 30, 2023.

Founded in 1913, Parma is considered one of the most famous Italian clubs. The Gialloblu play home games in white shirts with a dark blue cross and dark blue shorts. Speaking of their away colours, Parma footballers wear yellow-blue kits on the travels. Parma have yet to win the Serie A trophy, but they did well to lift the UEFA Cup trophy on two occasions (1994/1995, 1998/1999).
To make things even better for Parma fans, the Gialloblu won the European Cup Winners’ Cup in the 1992/1993 season, with the team beating Royal Antwerp in the title game 3-1. The Gialloblu welcome their rivals at Stadio Ennio Tardini, which was opened in 1923. The venue can hold up to 27,906 spectators. Bologna are considered Parma’s biggest rivals and there have always been fireworks in matches between the two sides.
