Our prediction for this Serie A match:
Sampdoria and Spezia take on each other in Genoa in the closing game of Saturday's program. La Samp have slim survival chances as they are ten points behind the safe zone, but the hope dies last. This match comes too early for Pussetto and Conti, while both De Luca and Audero are rated doubtful. Midfielder Abdelhamid Sabiri misses out through suspension.
The Bianconeri, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-0 loss to Lazio at the weekend. Considering that important defender Ethan Ampadu is banned for the game, we are tempted to put our money on the rock-bottom side. All Moutinho, Beck, Zovko, and Zurkowski are sidelined with injuries. In their last meeting and Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris Sampdoria defeated Spezia 2-1 and we predict that history is going to repeat itself.
Highlighted Player (Jeison Murillo):
Jeison Murillo is a 24-year-old Colombian defender who plays for Inter Milan in Serie A. The centre back started in the youth teams of Deportivo Cali but made his senior professional bow with Udinese and Granada, as part of the partnership agreement between the clubs.
He moved on a permanent basis to Granada in 2011 but spent most of his time on loans at fellow Spanish league clubs Cadiz and Las Palmas. His talent was there for everyone to see and soon he would end up moving to Inter Milan in 2015. Murillo made his international debut for Colombia in 2014.
He was also a member of the 2015 Copa America squad and scored his solitary goal in national colors against Brazil. He would go on to win the “Best Young Player” of the tournament. Murillo is a hard-tackling no-nonsense centre back and is regarded as a ball-playing defender, which is almost a rarity in world football.
Highlighted Team (Spezia):
Spezia is a professional Italian club based in Spezia, Liguria. The Bianconeri secured promotion to the Serie A in the 2019/20 season, with the team beating Frosinone in the Serie B playoffs final. Spezia are well known for their black and white home jerseys, and black is the dominant colour of their away kit.
The club’s home ground Stadio Alberto Picco has the capacity of 10,336 people. The venue was opened back in 1919, with architect Gregotti being in charge of the project. In 2002 the club chiefs decided to reach an agreement with Inter which saw Spezia become Inter’s feeder club.
As a result, the likes of Goran Pandev, Aco Stojkov, and Alex Cordaz joined the Bianconeri in the first season. Spezia then suffered a bankruptcy, but in 2008 they were re-founded. In the 2020/21 season the Bianconeri will compete in the Italian elite division for the first time ever.
