Our prediction for this Serie A match:
Sunday’s football game at Stadio Pierluigi Penzo pits together Venezia and Milan, the two teams with entirely different ambitions in the 2021/2022 Serie A season. Venezia’s main goal is to secure the elite division survival, while Milan are determined to regain the trophy. I Lagunari aim to make amends for a 3-1 loss to Lazio as they were not in action in midweek, but they will have to do it without suspended duo Tessmann – Caldara.
The Rossoneri, on the other hand, head into the match without trio Ballo-Toure – Bennacer – Kessie, who represent their respective national teams at the Africa Cup of Nations. Tatarusanu has been tested positive for coronavirus, while all Pellegri, Plizzari, and Kjaer are sidelined with injuries. Since Venezia are tough to beat at home, we predict that the two sides are going to share the spoils in Sunday’s clash.
Highlighted Player (Alessandro Florenzi):
Alessandro Florenzi is probably the most impressive product of AS Roma youth academy since Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi, and the full-back has already developed into an important player for both club and country.
Capable of operating as both right-back and right winger, the talented footballer is probably best remembered from scoring a marvellous goal from half-way line in the Champions League clash against Barcelona, but there is much more to him than an occasional wonder strike. While he usually played as a winger during his early career, Florenzi switched to attacking full-back at both Roma and Italy national team, and that proved a very good move for his career.
While helping the Gialorossi return to old glory days, the right-back left his mark on international stage as well, especially impressing since Antonio Conte took over the reigns in the national team. Despite the fact that he has yet to realise his full potential, Florenzi already boasts an impressive top flight experience and he is predicted a bright future in the game.
Highlighted Team (Milan):
AC Milan are regarded as one of the biggest club in Italy. The Rossoneri compete in the Italian Serie A and they have won 18 domestic trophies. Speaking of the club’s European success, Milan have clinched seven Champions League (European Cup) trophies.
Milan were on the verge of beating Liverpool in the 2005 Champions League final, but the Premier League outfit came from three goals behind and eventually won the prestigious trophy on penalties. The Rossoneri play their home games at Stadio San Siro (80,018), the stadium that was opened in 1926. It is well known that Milan’s bitterest rivals are Inter and there have always been fireworks when the two local rivals face each other in the Derby della Madonnina.
Milan were founded in 1899 by a lace-maker from England named Herbert Kilpin and a businessman Alfred Edwards. Milan’s home kits are red and black and that is why the team’s nickname is Rossoneri (The Red and Blacks).
The likes of Alessandro Costacurta, Paolo Maldini, Franco Baresi, Roberto Donadoni, Dejan Savicevic, Frank Rijkaard, Marco van Basten, Ruud Gullit and Andrea Pirlo are the most famous footballers who have represented the San Siro outfit.
