Our prediction for this Scottish Premiership match:
St Johnstone and Hibernian go head to head at McDiarmid Park on day 21 of the new Premiership campaign. The Saints have been having their ups and downs of late, with the team losing to St Johnstone, beating St Mirren, while sharing the spoils with Motherwell. St Johnstone are eager to move away from the danger zone and we are positive that they will fight tooth and nail against the Hibs. The hosts will be without Nicky Clark, Sam McClelland, Drey Wright, and Alistair Crawford in Saturday’s clash.
Hibernian, on the other hand, have been in a fine form of late, with the team winning four of their last five league matches. The Hibs aim to build on a hard-fought 1-0 win over Livingston, but beating St Johnstone on the road is easier said than done. Taking everything into account, we believe that there is a big value in betting on draw. All Adam Le Fondre, Jake Doyle-Hayes, and Chris Cadden are injured for the away team.
Highlighted Player (Christian Doidge):
Over the years Christian Doidge has established himself as one of the best attackers in Scotland Premiership. Born on August 25, 1992 in Newport, Doidge is a Wales international who plays for Hibernian in the Scottish top flight.
He is a product of the Southampton football academy, but he did not see any game action in the Premier League with the Saints. The towering striker played for Bristol Rovers during his youth career as well before joining Cwmbran Celtic at senior level. He played for the likes of Barry Town, Carmanthen Town, Dag & Red, Dartford (loan), Forest Green Rovers, and Bolton Wanderers (loan) as well before signing a deal with the Hibs.
Christian Doidge made his Scotland Premier League debut on August 3, 2019 in a 1-0 win over St. Mirren. The Wales attacker scored his first league goal for the Hibs against the same opponent three months late. Doidge has yet to receive a call-up for the Wales national football team.
Highlighted Team (St Johnstone):
Founded back in 1884, St. Johnstone are Scottish football club that welcome their rivals at McDiarmid Park. The venue, which was opened in August 1989, can hold up to 10,696 spectators. Blue and white are the dominant colours of St Johnstone’s home kit, whereas they wear yellow shirts and white shorts when playing on the road.
The club’s biggest success came in the 2013/2014 season when they defeated Dundee United 2-0 in the Scottish Cup final. Steven Anderson and Steven MacLean scored for the Saints in the match played at Celtic Park, Glasgow. Dundee and Dundee United are the club’s traditional rivals, with the teams facing in the Tayside derbies.
The likes of John Brogan, Joe Carr, Willie Coburn, Roddy Grant, and Henry Hall are the first five members of St Johnston “Hall of Fame.” The Saints recorded their biggest win against Tulloch (13-0) in September 1887, with the team suffering their heaviest defeat to Montrose (11-1) in April 1893.
