Venezuela
Struggling Peru will look to record their first win in the 2024 World Cup qualifiers when host Venezuela to Estadio Nacional on Wednesday morning. La Blanquirroja are desperate to put an end to their four-game losing run, but keep in mind that they have yet to find the net in the process. Experienced forward Paolo Guerrero is widely expected to return to the starting XI, with Gianluca Lapadula likely to drop to the bench. Boca Juniors right back Luis Advincula is pushing for a start as well.
La Vinotinto, on the other hand, are undefeated in the previous four group games, with the team raising their form week by week. Venezuela, though, often struggle on the travels, which is probably the main reason why we are going to bet on draw. As always, a man to keep an eye on in the away team will be River Plate attacker Salomon Rondon, who produced a fine display in a goalless draw with Ecuador.

Over the years Jose Solomon Rondon has established himself as one of the best South American attackers. The Venezuelan striker was born in Caracas on September 16, 1989 and he played for San Jose de Calasanz at the start of his youth career. He played for the youth teams of Deportivo Guilima and Aragua as well and he continued playing for Aragua at senior level.
After scoring 15 goals in 15 appearances for the club, Salomon Rondon moved to Spain in 2008, signing a deal with La liga side Las Palmas and two years later he moved to fellow Spanish outfit Malaga. The left-footed forward scored 25 goals in 67 appearances in La Liga for los Boquerones, but in the summer of 2012 he moved to Russian club Rubin Kazan.
Despite failing to impress in 36 appearances for the Tatars, Zenit chiefs decided to bring Rondon to Sankt Petersburg in 2014 and it has to be noted that the Venezuela international scored 20 goals in 37 appearances in the Russian Premier League for the Zenitchiki. Salomon Rondon, who made his Venezuela debut in February 2008 against Haiti, currently plays for West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League.

Peru national team has been competing at the international stage since 1927 when they played their first ever match against Uruguay. Over the course of their history, La Blanquirroja have formed long-standing rivalries with Chile and Ecuador while 1970s brought the team a worldwide recognition during the period that is to this date considered the most successful in Peruvian football.
Teofilo Cubillas, the team’s top scorer with 26 goals to his name is considered Peru’s greatest player helped the team qualify for three World Cups and win the Copa America in 1975. Peru are the two-time champion of the tournament, who came close to lifting the Copa America trophy again in recent years, finishing third in 2011 and 2015 respectively.
La Blanquirroja are managed by Ricardo Gareca commonly referred to as the Tiger who will lead his team to 2016 Copa America Centenario looking to win Peru its first trophy at a major tournament since 1982.
