Our prediction for this Bundesliga match:
Borussia Dortmund will be looking to build on a 2-1 win over Augsburg when they take on Mainz at their Signal Iduna Park on Matchday 8. Marco Rose’s men aim to stay in the title race, and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play. However, home win should not be considered as Borussia Dortmund’s injury list is pretty long. All Raphael Guerreiro, Thorgan Hazard, Manuel Akanji, Mats Hummels, and top scorer Erling Haaland are out of contention with injuries.
Die Nullfunfer, on the other hand, aim to make amends for back-to-back losses to Bayer Leverkusen (0-1) and Union Berlin (1-2), and they should take advantage of Borussia Dortmund’s absentees. Dominik Kohr is banned for the match, while both Jerry St. Juste and Adam Szalai are sidelined through injuries. Defender Alexander Hack is a major doubt.
