Our prediction for this Bundesliga match:
Hertha Berlin will look to make amends for a 4-1 loss to Borussia Dortmund when they take on Augsburg in the Bundesliga round 22. The capital club are desperate to escape the relegation zone, and, no doubt, Saturday’s clash could be the turning point for Sandro Schwarz’s troops. All Filip Uremovic, Wilfried Kanga, Peter Pekarik, Stevan Jovetic, Chidera Ejuke, and Kelian Nsona should miss out with injuries for the home side.
The Bavarians, on the other hand, defeated Hoffenheim at home thanks to Fredrik Jensen’s late goal, but given their poor winless run on the road (0-1-4), we do not believe that Hertha will have a better chance than this to return to winning ways in the German top flight. Augsburg’s injury list is long as well, including the likes of Mads Pedersen, Niklas Dorsch, Reece Oxford, Elvis Rexhbecaj, Andre Hahn, and Tobias Strobl.
Highlighted Player (Vladimir Darida):
Born in Sokolov on 8 August 1990, Vladimir Darida is yet another Czech Republic footballer who has made a name for himself in German Bundesliga, although not before leaving his mark on the domestic competition. The highly rated midfielder, who can successfully cover a number of positions in the middle of the park, enjoyed several successful years at Viktoria Plzen, making no fewer than 28 appearances in European competitions, before deciding to leave for SC Freiburg.
Darida performed so well in his first two Bundesliga campaign that he was purchased by Hertha Berlin when his previous employers got relegated to the second division, and he in turn helped the Olympiastadion outfit enjoy a thoroughly impressive campaign.
Darida was a surprise inclusion to the Czech Republic squad for the Euro 2012 finals, but there were no surprises when he played a key role to help Repre qualify for the Euro 2016 tournament. He impressed playing in a more advanced role in the absence of Tomas Rosicky, and he has already earned more than 30 caps for the national team.
Highlighted Team (Augsburg):
Augsburg are a German football club founded in Augsburg, Bavaria back in 1907. Die Fuggerstadter play in German Bundesliga and with 12,200 members they are regarded as the largest football club in Bavaria. Augsburg wear white shirts and they host their rivals at WWK ARENA.
The capacity of the stadium is 30,660 and it has been the home of Augsburg since 2009. Augsburg won the Schwaben Cup 13 times and it has to be noted that they were promoted to the Bundesliga for the first time in 2011.
The club qualified for the Europa League 2015/2016 group stages and thanks to a 3-1 win over Partizan in Belgrade they booked their place in the last 32. However, Liverpool proved to be a big catch for the German outfit in the Europa League knockout stages.
Die Fuggerstadter’s main rivals are TSV 1860 Munich and there have always been fireworks when the two teams take on each other.
