Our prediction for this Bundesliga match:
RheinEnergieStadion will host Tuesday’s football game between Koln and Leipzig, the two teams with entirely different ambitions in the season finale. Koln are on a three-game losing run in the Bundesliga, and, as a result, their elite division status is in great danger. The Billy Goats are desperate to grab something from the midweek clash, but they will have a mountain to climb against Leipzig. Slovak international Duda returns from suspension, while Andersson, Jakobs, and Thielmann are all out of contention with injuries.
The Red Bulls, on the other hand, failed to impress in a goalless draw with Hoffenheim, with the team remaining in second position in the standings. Leipzig are eager to melt Bayern Munchen’s advantage in the Bundesliga table, and seeing that head coach Julian Nagelsmann can count on key players for Tuesday’s clash, away win should definitely be considered.
Highlighted Player (Frederik Sorensen):
Frederik Sorensen is a Danish footballer who plays for Bundesliga side Koln as a defender. He plays as a centre back, but he is capable of playing as a right back as well. Sorensen was born in Copenhagen on 14 April, 1992 and he played for the likes of Roskilde KFUM, Himmelev-Veddelev, FC Roskilde and Lyngby during his youth career.
The 194-cm-tall defender was spotted by Juventus scouts in 2010 and on 27 August he officially signed a contract with the “Old Lady”. Nonetheless, Sorensen made no more than 17 league appearances for Juve between 2010 and 2012. On 17 January, 2012 he joined Bologna for a fee of € 2.5 million and he made 42 league appearances for the Rossoblu, scoring two goals for the club.
After ending his loan spell with Verona in 2015, he signed a deal with Koln for €1.6 million and he has been playing for the Bundesliga outfit ever since. Frederik Sorensen has 15 caps for Denmark U21 team and he played for the U20 and the U17 team as well.
Highlighted Team (Leipzig):
Leipzig are a professional football club founded in 2009. Die Bullen (The Bulls) were unbeaten in the 2012/2013 Regionalliga Nordost and, as a result, they secured promotion to the 3. Liga. After finishing the 2013/2014 as 3rd. Liga campaign in second place in the standings, Leipzig were promoted to the 2. Bundesliga and they competed in the German second tier for two seasons.
Despite suffering a loss to Karlsruher on the last day of the 2015/2016 round in the 2. Bundesliga campaign, die Bullen secured promotion to the Bundesliga for the first time ever. Leipzig play their home games at Red Bull Arena (42,959) and it has to be noted that the stadium was opened in 1954.
Die Bullen wear white shirts and red shorts while their away kit is blue and yellow. Ralph Hasenhuttl was appointed as the team’s manager at the end of the 2015/2016 season and you should know that the likes of Ralf Rangnick, Achim Beierlorzer, Alexander Zorniger, Peter Pacult, Tomas Oral and Tino Vogel were in charge of the team in the past as well.
