Saturday’s football game at Veltins Arena pits together Schalke and Bayern Munich, the two teams with entirely different ambitions in the 2022/2023 season. Schalke are desperate to secure the Bundesliga survival, and a hard-fought 1-0 win over Mainz is surely giving them a reason for optimism ahead of upcoming challenges. Simon Terodde, who scored the winner in the midweek clash, faces race against clock to be fit for Bayern Munich showdown, while all Fahrmann, Ouwejan, Greiml, Zalazar, van den Berg, Cisse, and Kaminski remain in the recovery room.
The reigning champions, on the other hand, faced no difficulties in a 6-1 crushing of Werder Bremen, but the game was marked by Sadio Mane’s injury.
