Our prediction for this Championship match:
Bloomfield Road will host Wednesday’s Championship game between Blackpool and Sheffield United. The Seasiders are eyeing their fourth consecutive league win, and they must be high on spirits ahead of the midweek clash. Gary Madine, who has found his goal-scoring touch of late, will be the man to watch in the home team, while all Richard Keogh, Luke Garbutt, Keshi Anderson, Grant Ward, Matthew Virtue, Chris Maxwell, and Sonny Carey should miss out with injuries.
The Blades, on the other hand, are eager to stay in the playoffs berth. Sheffield United experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 4-1 loss to Coventry City, and given Blackpool’s brilliant winning run, we predict that the visitors are going to return home empty-handed. To make things even worse for United, their injury list is pretty long, including Fleck, Baldock, Brewster, McBurnie, McGoldrick, and Basham.
Highlighted Player (Richard Keogh):
Richard Keogh is an English player, who has a deal with Derby County. The 188-cm-tall defender started his senior career in 2004 as he signed for Stoke City, but he was immediately sent on loan to Vikingur. After making nine appearances for the Icelandic club, he joined Bristol City in 2005.
Keogh made his Bristol City debut on 3 September, 2005 in a goalless draw with Colchester United. The Derby County defender then spent several seasons on loan at Wycombe, Huddersfield, Carlisle and Cheltenham before signing a permanent deal with Carlisle. Richard Keogh signed a three-year deal with Coventry City and he made 46 appearances for the club in the 2010/2011 Championship campaign.
Keogh played 45 games for Coventry in the 2011/2012 season and on July 2012 he joined Derby County. The defender made 178 appearances for the Rams until the 2016/2017 Championship campaign and he netted one goal for the iPro Stadium outfit. Keogh made his Republic of Ireland debut on 6 February, 2013 in a friendly game against Poland.
Highlighted Team (Sheffield United):
Sheffield United are a professional football club that compete in the Championship. The Blades finished the 2016/2017 League One campaign in top position in the standings, with the team collecting exactly 100 points in the process. Sheffield United last competed in the Premier League in the 2006/2007 season and they were more than unfortunate not to secure the top flight survival.
The Blades finished the season in 18th place in the process and it has to be noted that they were level on points with Wigan Athletic, who managed to avoid the relegation to the English second tier. Sheffield United welcome their rivals at Bramal Lane, the stadium which was opened on April 30, 1855. The current capacity of the venue is 32.702.
The club have numerous rivalries, but the most notable one is the rivalry with their city neighbors Sheffield Wednesday. The two teams face each other in the Steel City derby and it has to be noted that United share rivalry with the likes of Barnsley, Rotherham United, Doncaster Rovers and Leeds United as well.
