Our prediction for this Championship match:
Bournemouth will be looking to make amends for a 3-1 loss to Reading when they host Sheffield Wednesday at their Vitality Stadium. The Cherries are on a four-game winless run in the Championship, and, no doubt, they are eager to return to winning ways. Lloyd Kelly is sidelined with injury, but there are no suspended players in the home team ahead of the visit of Sheffield Wednesday. The Owls, on the other hand, did well to beat Preston thanks to Liam Palmer’s goal.
Sheffield Wednesday are tough to beat at home, but given their anything but good away record in the Championship, we do not believe that the visitors are capable of spoiling Bournemouth’s party at Vitality Stadium. All Dominic Iorfa, Joost van Aken, Cheyenne Dunkley are sidelined with injuries, while both Liam Shaw and Jordan Rhodes are rated doubtful for the game.
Highlighted Player (Joshua King):
Joshua King is a Norway international who plays for Premier League side Bournemouth as a striker. King was born in Oslo on January 15, 1992 and he started his career at the youth team of Romsas. In 2006 the Norwegian footballer moved to Valerenga and two years later he joined Premier League giants Manchester United. Nonetheless, he did not see any game action at Old Trafford as he was immediately sent on loan to Preston.
Joshua King played for the likes of Borussia M’gladbach, Hull City and Blackburn Rovers on loan as well before signing a permanent deal with the Riversiders in January, 2013. The pacey attacker scored only three goals in 56 appearances in the league for Blackburn Rovers, but in 2015 Bournemouth chiefs decided to bring him to Vitality Stadium.
Joshua King impressed in the 2016/2017 Premier League campaign, with the Norwegian striker scoring 16 goals in 36 appearances for the Cherries. King provided two assists for his teammates in the process as well.
Highlighted Team (Sheffield Wednesday):
Sheffield Wednesday are one of the two famous clubs from the city of Sheffield (South Yorkshire). The Owls compete in the English second tier (Championship) and they play their home matches at Hillsborough.
The venue was the scene of the Hillsborough disaster which occurred in 1989 when 96 Liverpool supporters were crushed to death in the FA Cup semi-final. It has to be noted that the World Cup (1966) and the Euro (1996) matches were played at Hillsborough.
Sheffield Wednesday have won four First Division trophies (1902/2903, 1903/1904, 1928/1929, 1929/2930) and they finished the 1960/1961 campaign in second place in the standings. The Owls have clinched three FA Cup trophies (1896, 1907, 1935), with the team winning the League Cup in 1991.
Sheffield Wednesday defeated English giants Manchester United (1-0) in the title game. Sheffield United are regarded as the Owls’ main rivals and the two teams face each other in the Steel City derby.
