Our prediction for this Championship match:
Coventry City will be aiming to move away from the relegation zone when they face Barnsley at St. Andrew’s Stadium on Matchday 42. The Sky Blues continue with their habit of producing much better showings at home than on the travels, and the fact that they defeated Bristol City in their last home game is surely giving fans a reason for optimism. All Dabo, Jones, Pask, Reid, and Sheaf are likely to miss the game with injuries.
The Tykes, on the other hand, aim to build on back-to-back wins over Luton and Middlesbrough. Barnsley are sitting in top six ahead of the trip to Coventry, but seeing that Reading are breathing down their neck, we are positive that the visitors will go for a win in the St. Andrew’s Stadium clash as well. Taking everything into account, we believe that both teams to score betting option should be considered. The likes of Kane, Kitching, and Williams are all out of contention through injuries.
Highlighted Player (Wesley Jobello):
Wesley Jobello is a Martiniquais professional footballer who plays for Coventry City in the English Football League One. He was born in Gennevilliers, France, on the 23rd of January 1994. The 26-year-old is a Marseille youth product, having featured for both the club's first team and the b-team over 50 times.
His debut appearance came as a substitute against Sochaux in Ligue 1 match on the 20th of May 2012. Apart from Marseille, his resume includes playing for teams Clermont Foot and Gazelec Ajaccio. He signed for Coventry City on the 30th of June 2019, on a three-year contract. Jobello has played ten games for the English outfit so far, providing a goal and an assist apiece in the process. Incidentally, Coventry marks his first time playing outside France.
On the International forefront, Jobello, initially a youth International for France, represented the nation at the under-18 level before switching to play for The Martinique national football team. His International career highlight is getting selected for Martinique's 40 man squad for the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Jobello is predominantly a left midfielder but is capable of playing on the right as well.
Highlighted Team (Barnsley):
Barnsley are an English club nicknamed the Tykes. The club was founded in 1887 and it has to be noted that they spend more seasons in the Championship than any other club in the history. The Tykes played in the Sheffield and District League from 1890, but in 1895 they were part of the Midland League. Barnsley play their home games at Oakwell, the stadium that was built in 1887.
The capacity of the stadium is 23,009 and it was opened back in 1888, just one year after the club’s foundation. The Tykes made it to the FA Cup final in 1910, but Newcastle United proved to be a big catch for the Oakwell outfit in the title game.
Nonetheless, Barnsley won the FA cup trophy in 1912 and that is considered the club’s biggest success. Barnsley defeated West Bromwich Albion in the two-legged tie (0-0, 1-0) to clinch the prestigious trophy for the first and only time in their history.
