Our prediction for this Championship match:
Kenilworth Road will host Saturday’s football game between Luton Town and Sheffield United, the two teams who sit in the opposite halves of the table ahead of Matchday 5. The Hatters occupy 11th place in the standings, with the team eyeing their third win of the season. Luton Town, though, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in an embarassing 5-0 loss to Birmingham City at the weekend, meaning that home win should not be considered.
Defender Peter Kioso is likely to drop to the bench, with Ireland international Glen Rea pushing for a start. The Blades, on the other hand, made a slow start to the season. Sheffield United are eyeing their first win of the process, and we do not believe that they will have a better chance than this to get back on course. Veteran striker Billy Sharp is pushing for a start after scoring as a substitute in the 2-1 loss to Huddersfield Town.
Highlighted Player (Simon Sluga):
Simon Sluga is a Croatian goalkeeper who plays for Luton Town in the Championship. Born in Porec on March 17, 1993, the 191-cm-tall shot-stopper started his youth career at hometown club Jadran Porec before joining famous Croatian club Rijeka.
After spending two years on loan Juventus Primavera and Verona Primavera, Simon Sluga signed a professional contract with Rijeka in 2013. It has to be noted that he played for the likes of Pomorac, Lokomotiva Zagreb and Spezia on loan as well before moving to England. The Luton Town goalkeeper represented Croatia U17, U18, U19, U20 and U21 teams in international matches and he made his senior team debut on June 11, 2019 in a friendly against Tunisia.
The Vatreni were beaten by the African side 2-1 in Varazdin, with Simon Sluga playing a full 90 minutes for Zlatko Dalic’s team. His contract with Luton Town should expire on June 30, 2022.
Highlighted Team (Sheffield United):
Sheffield United are a professional football club that compete in the Championship. The Blades finished the 2016/2017 League One campaign in top position in the standings, with the team collecting exactly 100 points in the process. Sheffield United last competed in the Premier League in the 2006/2007 season and they were more than unfortunate not to secure the top flight survival.
The Blades finished the season in 18th place in the process and it has to be noted that they were level on points with Wigan Athletic, who managed to avoid the relegation to the English second tier. Sheffield United welcome their rivals at Bramal Lane, the stadium which was opened on April 30, 1855. The current capacity of the venue is 32.702.
The club have numerous rivalries, but the most notable one is the rivalry with their city neighbors Sheffield Wednesday. The two teams face each other in the Steel City derby and it has to be noted that United share rivalry with the likes of Barnsley, Rotherham United, Doncaster Rovers and Leeds United as well.
