Our prediction for this Championship match:
Following a 1-0 loss at Coventry, Millwall will look to get back on course in the Championship when they take on Sheffield United at the Den. The Lions have been having their ups and downs of late, but a win over Sheffield United will see them climb to the playoffs berth. January signing Oliver Burke is pushing for his first Millwall start, while all Shaun Hutchinson, Aidomo Emakhu, Mason Bennett, Callum Styles, and Tyler Burey remain in the recovery room.
Meanwhile, the Blades suffered a 3-1 loss to Middlesbrough on Wednesday evening, but despite the defeat, they are still sitting in automatic promotion places. Taking everything into account, both teams should be happy with one point from Saturday’s clash. As for the visiting side, all Doyle, Stevens, Baldock, Brewster, Norrington-Davies, and O’Connell remain on the sidelines with injuries, while manager Paul Heckingbottom will watch the game from the stands following his sending off in the midweek loss.
Highlighted Player (Benik Afobe):
Benik Afobe is a 183-cm-tall striker who plays for Bournemouth. Afobe is a product of Arsenal youth academy, but he did not make his first-team debut with the Gunners. After spending several seasons on loan at Huddersfield Town, Reading, Bolton, Millwall, Sheffield Wednesday and Milton Keynes Dons, Afobe signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Wolverhampton on 14 January, 2015.
The pacey attacker scored 22 goals in 46 appearances for Wolves and, as a result, Bournmouth chiefs decided to sign him on 10 January, 2016. Benik scored 4 goals in 12 appearances for the Cherries in the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign and, no doubt, he helped the team secure the top flight survival.
It has to be noted that Afobe won the UEFA European Under-17 Championship with England back in 2010. The former Wolves attacker was born in Leyton, England on 12 February, 1993. Benik Afobe is capable of playing as a secondary striker as well.
Highlighted Team (Sheffield United):
Sheffield United are a professional football club that compete in the Championship. The Blades finished the 2016/2017 League One campaign in top position in the standings, with the team collecting exactly 100 points in the process. Sheffield United last competed in the Premier League in the 2006/2007 season and they were more than unfortunate not to secure the top flight survival.
The Blades finished the season in 18th place in the process and it has to be noted that they were level on points with Wigan Athletic, who managed to avoid the relegation to the English second tier. Sheffield United welcome their rivals at Bramal Lane, the stadium which was opened on April 30, 1855. The current capacity of the venue is 32.702.
The club have numerous rivalries, but the most notable one is the rivalry with their city neighbors Sheffield Wednesday. The two teams face each other in the Steel City derby and it has to be noted that United share rivalry with the likes of Barnsley, Rotherham United, Doncaster Rovers and Leeds United as well.
