Our prediction for this Championship match:
Following a 1-1 draw with Reading, Norwich City will be aiming to regain top position in the standings when they take on Preston in the Championship round 14. The Canaries are eyeing their fifth home win of the process, and they are likely to adopt an attack-minded approach in Saturday’s clash. Teemu Pukki should continue to lead the line for the hosts despite failing to find the net in the midweek draw, while all Adam Idah, Jon Rowe, Sam McCallum, Jakob Sorensen, Isaac Hayden, and Dimitris Giannoulis are likely to miss the game with injuries.
The Lilywhites, on the other hand, desperately needed a win against WBA, and they managed to get one. Preston moved closer to the playoffs berth, and the fact that they have yet to concede on the road is surely giving fans a reason for optimism. However, preventing Norwich City from scoring at Carrow Road is easier said than done. There are no fresh injury worries in the away team.
Highlighted Player (Grant Hanley):
Grant Hanley is Scottish footballer who plays for Norwich City as defender. Hanley was born in Dumfries, Scotland, on November 20, 1991 and he started his youth career at Queen of the South. After ending his spells with Crewe Alexandra and Rangers, the Scottish player joined English club Blackburn Rovers, where he started his senior career.
After scoring eight goals in 183 appearances for the Riversiders in league matches, he moved to fellow English club Newcastle United in July, 2016 for an undisclosed fee. Grant Hanley, though, made no more than 10 appearances for Newcastle United in the Championship before joining Norwich City. The 191-cm-tall defender made his full international debut for Scotland against Wales on in May, 2011.
He scored his first goal for the Scotland national football team in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Wales. His contract with Norwich City should expire on June 30, 2021.
Highlighted Team (Preston):
Preston North End or Preston were founded in 1880. The Lilywhites or the Invincibles play their home games at Deepdale, the stadium that was built in 1875 and opened three years later.
In 1889 Preston won their first FA Cup trophy and they did well to beat Huddersfield Town in the final of the 1938 FA Cup final. However, the club’s biggest success came in 1889 and 1890 when they won back-to-back domestic trophies (First Division).
Preston have yet to win the League Cup title, but they were runners-up in 1888, 1922, 1937, 1954, 1964. Preston’s main rivals are Blackpool and the two teams square off against each other in the West Lancashire derby. In their first ever meeting in the West Lancashire derby (1901) Preston recorded a 4-1 win over Blackpool.
Burnley and Blackburn Rovers are considered Preston’s big rivals as well. The colour of Preston’s shirts is white and they wear dark blue shorts.
