Our prediction for this Championship match:
There will be fireworks when QPR and Brentford take on each other in a small London derby on Wednesday evening. The Hoops have been showing signs of improvement of late, with the team beating both Watford and Blackburn in the previous two league fixtures, but Brentford are likely to pose a much bigger threat for the hosts than their previous rivals. All Amos, Carroll, Owens, and de Wijs are likely to miss the game with injuries.
The Bees, on the other hand, aim to make amends for a shocking 2-0 loss to Barnsley. Since the visitors are likely to go for a win in the midweek clash as well, we believe that there is a big value in betting on both teams to score. You should bear in mind that both sides managed to find the net in each of their last three meetings in the Championship. Baptiste, Jansson, Marcondes, and Norgaard are all out of contention through injuries, while Goode has been tested positive for coronavirus.
Highlighted Player (Tom Carroll):
Tom Carroll is a professional English footballer who plays for Swansea City as a midfielder. The 177-cm tall is a product of Tottenham football academy and it has to be noted that he made 27 appearances for Spurs at senior level, scoring one goal. He found the net in a 3-0 win over Norwich City in the 2015/2016 season.
After ending his loan spells with the likes of Leyton Orient, Derby County and Queens Park Rangers, Tom Carroll signed a permanent deal with the Swans in the winter of 2017. Tom Carroll has 17 caps for England U21 team, but he has yet to make his debut for the senior team.
His main position is central midfield, but he is capable of playing as both left and right midfielder as well. Tom Carroll’s preferred foot is left and his contract with the Welsh outfit should expire on June 30, 2020.
Highlighted Team (Brentford):
Based in London, Brentford compete in the Championship and they were founded in 1898. Griffin Park has been the home ground of the club since 1904 and the capacity of the venue is 12,300.
The Bees have yet to play in the Premier League and it has to be noted that they made it to the FA Cup sixth round on four occasions (1937/1938, 1945/1946,1948/1949, 1988/1989). Brentford played in the League Cup round 4 in the 1982/1983 and 2010/2011 season and that is the club’s biggest success in the competition.
Brentford’s main rivals are Fulham and Queens Park Rangers and they take on each other in the West London Derby. The rivalry with the Cottagers is probably the biggest and you should bear in mind that the clashes between the two teams have their history of crowd violence. The colour of Brentford’s shirts is red and white and they wear black shorts.
