Our prediction for this Championship match:
Rotherham United and Blackburn Rovers face each other at Aesseal New York Stadium in what is expected to be an entertaining game. The Millers have been struggling to find their best form in the season finale, and, as a result, their Championship status is in great danger. Rotherham United are desperate to pick up all three points from Saturday’s clash, and we are positive that they will fight tooth and nail against Blackburn.
Matt Crooks remains on the sidelines through suspension, while Viktor Johansson misses the game through injury. Both Olusunde and Robertson should be fit to face the Riversiders. Blackburn Rovers, on the other hand, quickly bounced back from a 1-0 loss to Sheffield Wednesday, with the team rolling over Huddersfield Town 5-2. The Riversiders, though, are not regarded as good travellers, which is probably the main reason why home win should be considered. All Ayala, Dack, Rankin-Costello, and Wharton are out of contention with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Adam Thompson):
Born in Harlow, England on September 28, 1992, Adam Thompson is a defender who plays for Bury in League One. Thompson started his youth career at Watford and after making 14 appearances for the Hornets at senior level, he moved to Southend United, signing a permanent deal with the club in January, 2014.
It has to be noted that he played for the likes of Brentford, Wycombe Wanderers and Barnet on loan as well before joining the Shakers. Adam Thompson has a short loan spell at Bradford City in the 2017/2018 season, but he made no more than nine appearances for the Bantams. Despite being born in England, Adam Thompson decided to represent Northern Ireland in international matches.
He made his debut with the Northern Ireland national team on February 9, 2011, coming from the bench in a 3-0 loss to Scotland. His main position is centre-back, but he is capable of producing fine showings at right-back as well.
Highlighted Team (Blackburn Rovers):
Blackburn Rovers have been trying to return to the Premier League ever since they dropped to the Championship in 2012. The Riversiders compete in the English second tier and they play their home games at Ewood Park. Blackburn were founded back in 1875 and they are one of the founding members of the Football League (1888).
Burnley are considered Blackburn’s main rivals and the two teams square off against each other in the East Lancashire derby. It has to be noted that Blackburn Burnley 7-1 in their first ever meeting in the East Lancashire Derby on 3 November, 1888. The Riversiders have won three First Division (Premier League) trophies (1911/1912, 1913/1914, 1994/1995).
Blackburn Rovers have clinched six FA Cup titles as well. Speaking of the club’s European success, the Riversiders won the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2007. The colour of Blackburn’s home kit is blue and white.
