Our prediction for this Championship match:
Sheffield United play host to Coventry City to their Bramall Lane in the Championship round 18. The Blades aim to bounce back from a 3-1 loss to Blackburn Rovers, and they are likely to fight tooth and nail against the Sky Blues. All Luke Freeman, Oliver Burke, Sander Berge, and Jack O’Connell are out of contention with injuries, but there are no suspended players in the home team.
Coventry City, on the other hand, are enjoying a very successful season, with the team sitting in 4th place in the standings. The Sky Blues proved their worth in a 3-2 win over Bristol City, but beating Sheffield United at Bramall Lane is easier said than done. A close encounter is on the cards, and we believe that there is a big value in betting on draw. Defender Ian Maatsen is banned for the visitors.
Highlighted Player (Jack Rodwell):
Once an exciting midfielder talent who left his boyhood club Everton for Manchester City in 2012, Jack Rodwell has been attracting plenty of criticism over the past couple of years due to the lack of playing time and refusal to leave the Etihad, despite being on the margins with Citizens.
Rodwell joined Everton’s academy when he was eight and soared through the ranks to emerge as one of the key players for the Merseyside club during his five-year stay with the Toffees. A talked-about £15 million move to City turned into a largely disappointing two-year stint with the Citizens, before Rodwell moved to Sunderland.
Having largely struggled to replicate his flying form from his time at Everton, Rodwell signed for the Championship club Blackburn Rovers in 2018 for the remainder of the season, in a bid to get his career back on track. Rodwell represented England through all youth ranks up to the senior side, for which he only managed three caps.
Highlighted Team (Coventry):
Nicknamed the Sky Blues, Coventry City are an English football club that compete in the League One. Coventry City, who were founded on August 13, 1883 as Singers FC, wear sky blue kit when playing on home soil, whilst their away colour is white.
Aston Villa and Leicester City are considered the club’s main rivals, but they have rivalry with fellow West Midlands clubs Wallsall and Burton Albion as well. Coventry City have yet to win the Premier League trophy, but they did well to go all the way in the FA Cup in the 1986/1987 season, with the team beat Charlton Athletic in the two-legged final. They share stadium with Birmingham City, with both clubs playing their home games at St. Andrew’s Stadium.
Built in December, 1906, St. Andrew’s Stadium can hold up to 29,409 spectators. Dion Dublin is one of the most famous Coventry City players, with the legendary centre-forward scoring 61 goals in 145 appearances for the club in the league.
